We advice to make a whipping on the end of double braided ropes to keep core and cover together. Premiumropes sells various whipping twine in many colours.

It depends on the diameter of the rope. It usually is around 70-80cm

This is possible. It's only ment to keep the core and cover in place.

The size doesn't matter for this whipping. For a whipping on a splice a thinner needle is recommended.

Is that the same way you do on tapering line connection?

Hi, it is the same whipping as used on a tapered line! The stitching prevents the core and cover from moving when the rope is not under tension.
