This is a phenomenal video, the best I 've seen of Norway here, full of valuable information and spectacual photos. This must be the best commercial (I thought it was) and PR for Norway.

Obviously this is an advertising video with paid content from various tourist board etc. Who would ever bother to the ‘gothic’ church in Kristiansand? Kristiansand is certainly NOT anyone’s Must-visit-site in Norway. The surrounding area with the Blindleia for boating and even the Dyreparken is a major attraction for many families visiting. This video has very low credibility.

Norwegian here, these are my top twelve places to visit: 1. Hjørundfjorden and the Norang valley - beats any other fjord ...and valley in Norway 2. The Eikesdal lake 3. Senja (if you want to avoid being drowned in tourists in admittedly equally beautiful Lofoten...) 4. Oslo 5. Stetind - our national mountain 6. Ålesund 7. The Troll Wall 8. Lyngen Alps 9. Bergen 10. Hardanger plateau - walk from cottage to cottage 11. Loen and Olden lake 12. Helgeland coast

Doing super research atm, and so far after doing over 5000 '360° google views (basically sort of seeing the location before being there), only 3 of your list made it, Bergen, hardanger plateau and Loen. The rest either is not reachable (to far to be worth it, like your nr. 1, maybe that one if i go lofoten ever, but just Bergen Lofoten is 22 hour drive, wtf). Oslo so far is really boring, (unless you love musea and restaurant wich i don't, the nature there is nice but not special, might as well go sweden then or finland, Bomlo (brandasund) is one of nicer coast area's wich lot of walking freedom, planning there. Bergen, floyen, etc nice too, Bondhusvatnet so far has my preference of any hike i've seen yet, combines easy path, non stop water, non stop vista's, lakes, nature, what i actually expect of Norway, to be honest most hikes, only the start and end are beautifull (one day hike), the full hike needs to be nice, not locked into a dark forest where the trees don't look super healthy.

There‘s one little mistake. The northern lights Cathedral is in Alta, 380 km away from Tromsø 😉 But your video is great, I just want to go back to Norway, this country is so beautiful, especially during the winter time

Yeah, unfortunately, I must have been confused with "Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county" when creating the video! Gutted as I try to be as accurate as possible, of course. Nonetheless, at least there is something additional in the video! Albeit, not quite in Tromsø. Thank you for your input. 😊

Which cruise is better in Bergen ...mostraumen cruise or the one from gudvangen? ....
@explorable365
@explorable365 6 ай бұрын
Sorry, really slow reply! Did you choose one?! Choosing between the Mostraumen cruise from Bergen and the cruise from Gudvangen depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. If you are looking for convenience and a shorter trip: The Mostraumen cruise from Bergen is ideal. If you want to see some of Norway's most famous fjords and have more time to explore: The cruise from Gudvangen through Nærøyfjord is the better option.

I think you mean period? If so, June to August is the best time for good weather and cheaper prices. But being a Scandinavian country with much of its territory within the Arctic Circle, no one can guarantee excellent weather. But from June to August, clear, mild days with a piercing blue sky are the norm. This is the best time to see the fjords or the Lofoten Islands or Svalbard at their most pristine and glorious.

Why Kristiand sand? Have you been in Norways 4th large city? With Europes larges beatch and 2 restaurants with 2 star Mitchlan (?) Sorry for bad spelling... Stavanger us the first harbor for cruice and a startpoint for fjords. Its the oilcapital with thight boand to Huston and US. Stavanger was a stunning town with a cathedral from 1250. It has a huge vining history and even an influence on Ww2

It reads as though you don’t think Kristiansand was a good suggestion? If so, the largest city in Southern Norway is Kristiansand, where you can roam through its old town, called Posebyen, indulge in fresh seafood, enjoy lazy days on the city beach, and attend several fun festivals. Dyreparken zoo and amusement park is a sure winner with the little ones. A short drive from Kristiansand lies Lindesnes lighthouse, mainland Norway’s southernmost point. Lindesnes is also where you’ll find the incredible Michelin-starred restaurant Under, the world’s largest underwater restaurant. So to us, it is deserving of its place? 😊

As for Stavanger. What do you get if you combine Michelin-starred restaurants with old wooden houses, world-class street art, and a great multicultural vibe? Travel to Stavanger and experience it for yourself. Stavanger is the largest city in the southwestern part of the country, and an ideal starting point if you want to take in famous natural attractions such as the Lysefjord and Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock). The coastal area of Jæren is a beach bum’s paradise, home to some of Norway’s widest and whitest beaches. Surfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts will also be in for a treat. Follow the North Sea Road towards Egersund and discover charming towns and villages, like picturesque Sogndalstrand, lining the coast like pearls on a string.

Sorry, but Stavanger is not the starting point for the fjords. That would be Bergen further north. Stavanger is a lovely town, don't get me wrong, but to say that is the start is a tad misleading. Likewise; both cities have connections to the US and had an influence on Viking history (and in regards to Bergen; Norwegian history from the Viking age and up to 1814). I would say visit both cities, as they are both stunning. If possible - start in Oslo, go south to Kristiansand, then north to Stavanger, Bergen, Ålesund, and Trondheim. End the trip in Tromsø if you are able to afford the long trek, after taking a small detour to the Lofoten islands. Also, Stavanger is indeed housing very good restaurants, so a trip there is never wrong.
