If the sole purpose of wanting to build yourself after a break up is to get a chance of a new relationship, then there’s no point in building yourself up, and you’re wasting your life, and women will spot that from a mile off, likely leading to an eternity of being single
@kingdavid64353 жыл бұрын
Eliminate all contact; then work on being the best you possible, part take in new experiences such as travel or productive social activities. Under no circumstances do you ever go back to an X and in time the relationship you ultimately desire will find you. You're the Prize!

This came just in time. I just got dumped last week after a year long relationship. Thankfully I'm over the emotional state and able to think more rationally. I realized I was being emotionally abused, and never even realized it. While it sucks, I still think this was a great learning experience as to what to look out for in my next relationship. Keep up the good work. Salute.

Jeff, This tutorial is so IMPORTANT! I see so many men, especially young men, deal with breakups in the most toxic and dangerous ways because they simply can't handle any form of rejection or because they have errantly learned that a failed relationship means that they themselves must be failures as well. They cut up, act out and devalue themselves and subsequently others because they validate themselves through the eyes of others. Frequent social media usage only succeeds in making bad situations worse and not-so-bad situations horrible. Your advice is sound, thoughtful and practical in an era that is all for the total abdication of accountability and one in which ratchet behavior is entertainment and, sadly, the new norm. From one O.G. to another, keep up the good work, my brother!✊🏾

I'm 55. Now happily married with kids but I've been dumped and been the dumpee many times in my life. Recently a friend of mine got dumped by her boyfriend after 3 years. It was her first long term relationship and he left with no explanation and hasn't been in touch since, and she's devastated. The best advice I could give her is that it doesn't matter. It does't matter why he left, it doesn't matter why it no longer worked for him. No reason will make you feel any better. There is no closure, it's a myth. The Human heart is a mysterious beast. It wants what it wants. You're hurting because you've been dumped? It's bad I know but someday you're going to let someone go too. It's not cruel. Just move on with your life. It's the best way to heal.

Jeff, this is such great advice. I am going through a divorce right now and I have to say the biggest things you said that has helped is going outside. I make myself go to starbucks and work 2 days a week just so I am around people, even though I am not talking to any of them. The other was working out. It is helping me stay in a positive mindset. The last thing that has been helpful is taking responsibility for my part. Like you said it is easy to blame the other person but taking responsibility for my part has been helpful in identifying what I did wrong on my part and what I can do better next time.

I think all of the tips you provided are very important. My most important one I stuck with, is that once the relationship ends, we go our own separate ways. This whole "being friends" thing doesn't work. One side will always have unreciporicated feelings. And it's usually the woman who suggests it to make herself feel less guilty.

Despite taking myself off of the grid almost two years ago to focus on my personal growth, I still have days where I mourn since she was the one to initiate the breakup. Just a few months ago, a supposed mutual friend reached out to see if I wished her a Happy Birthday. Of course I did not but that right there reopen up the wound. I divested more in that relationship than my others because I had the financial means to do so. That why it hurts so bad. I am ashamed how much of an overly-doting and altruistic simp I was.
@justinalexander25353 жыл бұрын
I don't think you should feel ashamed for genuinely caring about someone. I had recently been dumped this past January and I was with my girl for 3 years. Going off the grid really does help and like you said, I have my days as well, it really isn't easy. You're already focusing on your personal growth and what you need to do for yourself. I think her friends reaching out is really just signals from her to see if she could still reach you/ may have feelings. I'm only 9 months into my break-up and I've already dealt with the "Hey how are you", "This made me think of you", "I still care about you" bs. Sometimes people don't realize what they have until it's gone. Keep moving forward in your purpose!

Do you think you can make a video on how to survive the sombreness of Covid 19 (isolation, not getting see people, losses, feeling down generally) and also perhaps what men should wear for winter (what kind of shoes, do they need skivvies, how to look stylish too). Damn, such great advice -- totally slept on until today; and I definitely could have used it before now. About one month in to losing for good (what I thought was) my future Life Partner, after 3 years together.... Didn't understand why she didn't want to be friends or anything (tho left the door open for the possible future, which was weird), and that was tough -- because we were Right 'n Tight, as friends and lovers. Short story long, I wound up deciding to completely burn bridges with one deft Deathstroke (returning all of her gifts and photo memorabilia during our time, unannounced) -- and it's helped with the healing. Sometimes you have to be as Cold as ice in order to eventually experience the warmth of other suns elsewhere.
@ralph43703 жыл бұрын
Many great points. IF I may share a few more points. Never accept the friendzone. Go no contact, block on every level and change your number. Have someone else collect all of the exes mementos into one giant bag(s) or box(es) for donation. (which is similar strategy for when pets are gone. Insert female dog joke here?) Give someone whom you TRUST access to your social media and have them DELETE and SCRUB all of the old pictures of you to together from your time line. Then Delete account or change password and forget it for now. If you do it, you will hurt more. Go ghost online and take the time to rebuild yourself. Like OG states go through the emotions. Search the terms' No Contact" and "Dumpers Remorse" right now you maybe feeling like hell. But when you demonstrate with time that you healed. It will be the other person whom felt happy right now that they are free to regretting their decision. Your pain is temporary, it shows your feelings were genuine. But this pain will past and time will heal you but not the current suffering. All of it goes away. Also look up videos on "Narcissism" they are eye openers. Later you will come to the conclusion it was a blessing in disguise. If you really want to have the last laugh. Put all of your paper memories in an envelope and mail them to her. Put down the sender address from her job, parents home any address will do. Don't write no letter, only her stuff. It tells her many things but the main things is "I am done, don't want to remember you or keep your memory alive" Which is a fate worse than ......so I have heard. When they return which they will. Don't ever give them the time of day. PEOPLE that love ya, don't leave ya. She quit, abandon, left her post as your GF, Wife, Side chick etc. Focus on the people that want to be in your life. If it was easy for them to leave ya, they will do it again. We all deserve to be fool's once not twice.

If you have children you need to take special care of them if you break up. You will still need to celebrate special occasions of your common children together, e.g. when you get grand children. You will have different opinions on how to raise your children and about finances. Still you and your ex need to treat each other with respect, for the sake of your children, although it might not be easy.
