It’s a tough one, but I think I like the SMB2 Mushroom more than the Master Sword. You interact with most enemies completely differently, opening up brand new uses for pretty much every enemy. Plus throwing enemies at each other and super jumping is just really fun!

Personally I like the master sword better because of the different projectiles and the sword all combined while the smb2 mushroom has only a few mechanics, but the smb2 mushroom still has so many possibilities even with those few mechanics but to be honest it’s a very close call

I think I like the master sword better as a power-up but the smb2 mushroom better as an item. What I mean by that is that the master sword is more interesting when you collect it but I think the smb2 mushroom on the night theme may even be more useful than the power-up itself, or at least to me it is. In the night ground theme smb2 mushrooms jump when you jump, so I used that to make a true don't jump stage. I know I could simply use the clear condition but the clear condition doesn't allow Mario to leave the ground, and it also doesn't allow checkpoints. So the smb2 mushroom comes in great handy for don't jump levels, I even made a don't jump boss fight with a koopaling at the end. Y22-YSB-KDF As you showed in the video there's so much more you can do with the smb2 mushroom on the night ground theme. Such as make levels that switch on/off blocks every time you jump, or levels where you can't see Mario and have to guide the mushroom by jumping. Finally being able to detect when Mario jumps is a real game-changer for me.

Powerups should have a feature where losing them doesn't make you small, but you keep them and lose just a 3rd of your health, so basically you'd be still able to keep the powerup after taking damage and removing the need for powerup spawners which regenerate health in the middle of a boss battle (which I don't like doing)
