Hi! 💖House training💖 when your puppy pees in the house, wipe it up with 2-3 paper towels, take the paper towels outside, put a brick or rock to hold down from wind, every 2-3 hrs all day, take your puppy out using SAME WORDS; Wanna go peepee outside?” And take her to the paper towels, and say sweetly, “go peepee!’ Pretty soon when you ask her if she needs to pee, she’ll get excited to run to back door!! This really works! Consistency using same happy tone and sane words. Also lots of praise afterwords!! Good luck. She’ll be great!

What a Blessing that your mom is able to be with you ❤️ I lost my mom when I was 10 (I’m 50 now) and I was crying for her earlier today. The early darkness is rough especially up here because the sun doesn’t come up until closer to noon then it’s setting 2 hours later. I don’t know how you do it having 3 pups in the house when they don’t get along! Loving your vlogmas videos! I was binge watching your old ones during the last couple of weekends and truly enjoyed them😊

Hey Arika, it sounds like you have a good plan in place for Mom’s future. It makes it so much nicer that she is on board with it. My grandmother never got on board with leaving her home even though she had a lot of issues. She ended up staying in her own home until she was 96 because, honestly, she was just too stubborn to do anything else. Luckily, she never set the house on fire or anything, but we did worry about her.

I had to take care of my parents. My daddy was in the bed I had to bath him,shave him & make his bed with him in it. Then after he die my mother lived with us. Now I'm having to take care of my husband. Back in 2010 I had to take care of my daddy sister my aunt.

For 30 or more years I made rolled sugar cookies, at least once, sometimes twice a year. Gave them for gifts, and to have around the holidays. Since I’m no longer working and not giving for gifts, I stopped. My cookbook was given to me by my mom, when I got married over 50 years ago. I’ve been loyal to that recipe ever since. I haven’t stopped making them, but am now making the same recipe with the option, to make drop sugar cookies which are so much less time consuming and easier. Can’t believe you had the energy, to roll out cookies and bake so late. You have to be worn out. Hopefully you can get some rest, in the near future. You are a wonderful daughter, mother, mother in law, grandmother, wife and sister. I admire you greatly! Merry Christmas and God Bless!

I have a 17 year old dachshund and a 3 year old and in the beginning the youngest one was always wanting to play while the oldest one was so grouchy bc his older, I kept them separated with the gate and today after 2 1/2 years they get along just fine, I removed the gate permanently and now they play together, also maybe u should take the sweet dog outside with your moms dog so he can learn how to potty outside, and little by little introduce the older dog.

I know all of you have thought a million times over with things that concern your mom. Realistically, even though you love your mom, none of you are trained nor physically able to provide long-term care for her. Her looking forward to the changes is a great thing. How well does Buttercup get along with cats? Especially Clyde? Lol. You amaze me with how well you take things in stride. I don't think I've ever seen so many cookie cutters owned by an individual. I can also relate with your situation, I took care of my grandma until she passed away and she’s been gone 2 years and 2months now and I miss her EVERYDAY! Plus I agree put the fur Babies together and they will eventually get along trust me I rescue critters and just went through that with a puppy I took in that was dumped, 3 of my 4 dogs got along but not one of them and it’s taken a couple of weeks but they were actually playing together last night! Arika I’ve been in your shoes we had my mom move in with us. She didn’t have a dog but she did have a stroke . It was not easy in the end we placed her in a nursing facility and she lived six months. I miss her terribly. I don’t know if I made the right decision putting her there but I tried. I was still working full time . I’m retired now it would have been easier now. I remember you mentioned it takes your mom a long time to get from point a to point b. I know she has a walker, but I use the walker with a bench and wheels. It has locks on it as well. I have Parkinson's and it helps greatly. I can sit and roll when needed.
