Embarkation day is so important as it sets the tone for your whole cruise.

I consider myself a seasoned cruiser, and sometimes I do some of the items listed. For example, I will sometimes visit the buffet. However, I always approach day 1 with a plan. For me, it involves getting on as early as possible. From there, I have a checklist of what I want to do. If I can get the list checked off quickly, then I'll go to the buffet as soon as it opens. That way, I can beat the crowd. However, some ships offer other venues that are more relaxing. For example, Oasis class ships on Royal Caribbean have the Solarium Bistro, which is much less hectic and has a buffet with many of the best items from the main buffet. Some of the things that might be on my checklist can include getting restaurant reservations, Visiting shore excursions, the loyalty desk, or the next cruise office. Sometimes I visit signature attractions such as special slides, flowriders, skydiving simulators and more. The point is, have a plan for the first couple hours on board.

@@stevek7068 If you have a plan and get on the ship early, you can beat the crowds to take care of these things for sure. But if you don't, it'll cost you precious time early in your cruise. It sounds like you're a savvy cruiser that knows how to make the most of these early moments on your cruise! We do sometimes end up at the buffet on embarkation day, but I always regret it 😜

Heading to the Spa right after boarding is going to be me 🤣😂😅 Quality over quantity is so true, even in life ;) The ship time situation answered a question I always had. Do they make you aware of what to set your time to? At this rate, I'm going to look like a pro on my first cruise after watching all of your videos 🤣🤣🤣

They definitely tell you when the time changes, but not everybody changes their watches/phones and I've definitely seen people miss the ship as a result! You live right by a major port so a cruise would be super easy to do... I'm going to throw a party when you finally do! 😜

I always pack my workout clothes in my backpack. The first day at the gym is always empty.
@FamilyAtSea8 күн бұрын
@@portableassets2054 I workout on the ship but I don't think I've ever worked out on embarkation day. I'm usually doing a video tour of the space on day 1 though (not allowed to film after the open house) and I'm always impressed with the discipline of the people in there working out on Day 1!

First time cruisers need to know to switch to "Airplane mode" on their phones as soon as the ship starts to move away from the dock. You might be too busy later to remember, otherwise $$$$$$ down he drain

@@Dave17101 That's a good one! I'll be sure to include that in a future video... Thank you for that!
