Thank you Sarah for the Hokkaido series. You gave me many ideas when international tourism can resume again. Normally KZbinrs check out the prefecture in the winter time with all the snowy themed events so I’m glad you went in the autumn. I got to say the thumbnail with the chicken bite was quite a bold choice ☺️. At the end of the video you looked like the curry soup was causing a food coma. Also, a lot of Niziu content dropped with their first anniversary recently. Hope you saw all the special stages they posted.

Glad you enjoyed the non-snowy Hokkaido! Regarding the thumbnail, I couldn’t choose between the chicken bite and the meat (the one I posted on Instagram) but I’m glad I went for the chicken bite 🙌 I’ve been getting notifications on NiziU but tbh I haven’t been able to check any of them… I’ll try to make some time and catch up on them all!

@@TokyoFoodieSarah Definitely set aside some time! The stages are really well done. I was surprised they made one for Beyond the Rainbow (full team) since it wasn’t a title track. But they all learned the choreography for Nizi Project 2. It was nice to see the growth over the past year.

I really like lamb, so I'd like to try Jingisukan one day, I'd also like to try the Sapporo ramen, I've had it in London and it tastes really good, so I'd like to try a good bowl in Sapporo.

My two favourite: Hokkaido wagyu steak, A4 and A5 Raw and ready to eat corn from street side vendors, just peel the leaves off. Strangely the 100 yen one tasted better than the 150 yen, which was better than the 200 yen one.

Thanks for the comment! I checked but it seems like you can’t get the same melon bread in Sapporo. However you can find ordinary melon breads in most bakeries across Japan. The melon soft serve place only has branches in Furano and Otaru, none in Sapporo unfortunately 🥲

Been to Hokkaido 4x already, mainly to eat seafood and for the snow festivals.. Almost every Hokkaido cuisine is covered..but you just missed what Hokkaido is known for which is my favorite:.. the CRABS. Hokkaido has 4 kinds of crabs.. the Hokkaido King Crab, Snow Crab, Hairy Crab, and seasonal Hanasaki Crab..The crabs is actually featured as the first of 5 must try dishes in Hokkaido by Abroad in Japan. Not sure why crab was not mentioned in your video, maybe you are not fond of crabs.. I usually chose hot spring resorts in Noboribetsu that has unlimited crabs included in the dinner buffet...There is another Hokkaido delicacy called Shishamo.. a smelt fish native to Hokkaido..but it is out of season as you went during the summer.. But it is also a must try as a tempura.. But of course it is as iconic as the Hokkaido crabs and ジンギスカン.
@TokyoFoodieSarah2 жыл бұрын
Ah yes thanks for pointing that out! I tried to order crabs in all restaurants I went to, but they were either unavaible or super expensive. The crab restaurants I wanted to go to was closed (or closed really early) because of the pandemic. But I should have mentioned that in the video. A crab buffet at a Noboribetsu inn sounds great! 🤤
Ohhhh good question……… probably the seafood donburi at Kikuyo Shokudo

Hey Sarah 😅👋🏼 It’s been ages! I’ll have to do a lot of catching up with your Hokkaido series, as real life has gotten in my way (long story short below). Although I’ll say that Genghis Khan is something I’d love to try 😋 Okay, brief long story time: Last week I was leaving Japan and head home to Australia to tend to some business. However, Mr Omicron reared his ugly head, got everyone in a panic and their border is closed (again 🙄). I’m still in Tokyo and honestly, I’d rather forget those weeks ever happened 😅 Anyway, I hope you’re doing well! Trivia: I once sang “Genghis Khan” at a karaoke parlour in Akihabara 😂 It was hilariously bad.

I especially love this video very much. Being mainly a foodie myself, I travel more for the food rather than for the scenery. So I love how you summarize what food we should try in a particular area with just the right amount of details as well as where to find them in your description.
