i love the old literature, i'm not a prude, not against swearing. I actually do on a regular basis. What I love, here,is perfect grammar. The visualization. Am I just old and not able to hold to the past I love.

I know exactly what you mean. I am 70 now and I tell my grandson (12) as much about my past and the world I grew up in. He’s always interested and asks lots of questions. I’m not a person who says everything in the ‘good’ old days were better because they certainly were not. But I do think there were things like principles, people looking out for each other, getting out on bikes, playing sports, reading and walking and so on, that sadly is lacking now.All of these stories come from a bygone age which are very important as well. I used to read ghost stories all the time, they kept me amused for hours.

Yes! Seriously, I’m 67 and love listening to and reading these old tales. The prose is beautiful almost artistic. I believe that this is why Movies ( excellent as many are) of old classics such as “Lord of the Rings” etc, can disappoint those of us who grew up reading these treasures.

Tony's ghost tales are a balm to my broken spirit. I've been listening to his shorter stories during the day. His voice calms the fear and despair so many of us in the States feel right now. Now this longer compilation is getting me through the night. Ironically, when I wake up in a cold sweat at 3 a.m. ghost stories (told in Tony's rich voice) provides succor. Thank you.

I’ve been really enjoying listening to you read these wonderful classic ghost stories, and I’ve liked the newer stuff as well. Your content is well curated. I’ve been listening oldest to newest so I’m just on stories posted about 2 years ago. I’d like to recommend Japanese ghost/horror stories retold by Lafcadio Hearn. My favorite is the Boy Who Drew Cats. I heard this story when I was a toddler from a horror stories record of my much older siblings. I’m sure that vinyl record started my love of classic horror tales.

From Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The correct pronunciation is “Boo-wee” (Bowie knife). There is also a town in Maryland named Bowie. Tony, you are genius! I enjoy everything about your channel: the stories, your scholarship and your narration. Please forgive correction but I think you’d want to know the original pronunciation for ‘Bowie’.

Although considered a slave state, Alexandria was a free slave haven. Also Jim Bowie was a pioneer in the early days of the US and his knife is legendary. Love your work, Tony.
