The stack trains that feature domestics and sometimes COFCs and detachable trailers are Q-trains (guaranteed service). Solid export stacks are S-trains.

Trains on this line going north terminate at Willow Springs and/or Corwith Yard; some will be interchanged east to the Norfolk Southern and the CSX Railroads. Trains on this line going south/west will terminate at Fort Madison, Kansas City, Denver, Phoenix, San Bernadino, Los Angeles, Stockton (CA), and North Bay (outside of Oakland, CA). The Chillicothe is by far the busiest subdivision on the BNSF.

I forgot to mention that there is another HUGE yard south of Joliet called Logistics Park Chicago where a lot of containers and vehicle trains terminate. It's the newest of the five yards in the Chicagoland area belonging to BNSF.
@CNSD75I6 жыл бұрын
It may look like a north-south mainline in some spots geographically, but it's pretty commonly known as an east-west line. The BNSF timetables don't lie after all. Nice video, though.

Great video. I give a 10 because you caught my favorite train on the BNSF at 36:00 minutes in you caught the rare to find except on the BNSF a true blue TOFC train. That Just like your video was wonderful.

Do these trains still come from/go to Corwith yard?
@SantaFebuff10 жыл бұрын
Not sure, I'll ask around for you.
@jamesdmehl10 жыл бұрын
They most certainly do, Corwith is no more than just an intermodal yard now, followed by Willow Springs another big intermodal hub, be sure to check them out on Google Earth or Google Maps!

@SantaFebuff10 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have a friend there and I brought another friend with and we all hung out for the day along the tracks in town. I have future BNSF Transcon videos (though not as long) coming up that feature other towns further down the line.
@RyanFRails9 жыл бұрын
BNSF doesn't usually run ES44DC's on their coal trains. They will most often see ES44AC's, AC4400's, SD70ACe's, or SD70MAC's.

I can't wait for the CN documentary, i have some videos from the Centralia sub and it goes under the same division if you want some in your documentary.
@SantaFebuff10 жыл бұрын
The documentary will be awhile down the road. I have to get some time to get better shots and more shots of towns I have't been to and etc. Thanks for the offer, I will be using my own footage to keep things more easily organized. I'm glad to hear it already has drawn some attention. I hope to get all the shots done before the "big freeze". lol Thanks for watching!
