Have an interview in a few mins and just wanted to come back to this. Little background. I’m a recent graduate and earned my degree in Computer Information Systems. Soon as I got out of school I landed a IT Analyst position at a help desk. Quickly learned that this isn’t what I want to do so I started looking into the cyber field since that’s what I originally wanted to do in school. Got my Sec+ cert and currently working on my CySA+ cert but I’m still trying to get into the cyber security field so I’ve been looking at Entry level SOC positions. Finally landed an interview and have been looking into common questions and realized that I know most of this. About 87% of it. My only issue is I get nervous during interviews as anyone would but hopefully I land this! I’ll post an update here if I get the job!

CSRF is basically making a url that when used by an attacker makes the victim take an unexpected action. For my college class we where given a vulnerability website designed to look like myspace. So we make urls that when loaded would add 'Samy' to your friend list. So if Alice clicked on the link it would added Samy to there friend group. Another step up for this attack is making the url be seen as an image on you profile. So to have your profile picture be the malicious url. So whenever someone views your profile they add you as their friend, becuase the url is automatically clicked from the servers code viewing the image. There are some catches like you needed to know the token and timestamp, but those where insecurely configured to where they where not changing.

You addressed some good questions and provided some good resources, but the answers were somewhat long and rambling. Would be better to edit or preplan the answers better. Viewers time is valuable and videos that acknowledge/consider that are better than those that don't imo.

Very good answers and explanation for those questions. I just had the third and last roud of interview this week for a SOC analyst role. From these questions, I was only asked "How do you keep yourself updated with the information security news?" on my interview with the manager. The last round was a technical interview and I was not asked any of these questions, it's difficult to predict what is coming. I watched some other videos like this one and none of the questions I studied were asked. I made notes of the ones I did not know how to answer: 1. What is LSASS? 2. What's "curl" command in Linux? 3. How do you get to the domain controler after getting access to one of the computers in the network? 4. Where would you save a bat file in linux to make sure it would run after the system is rebooted? 5. Where is the event viewer saved in Windows? Posting these questions here as it might be useful to someone. I don't feel confident about my last interview

Hello Gerald ..Thanks for your good work.you doing a great Job . Quick question: what do you think is today's biggest cybersecurity risk ? And why...Briefly 🙏
@SimplyCyber3 жыл бұрын
Todays biggest cybersecurity risk really depends on what dimension you are talking about. Different industry's have different biggest risks. A catch all would be ransomware right now, but after solarwinds hack, supply chain is becoming more mainstream. As boring as it sounds, end user awareness training really is one of the best controls an org can use to reduce risk.
