Don't be surprised if I say that 0 was not invented by Aryabhatta actually the researchers found the use of 0 in Aryabhatta's books but it was being used even before Aryabhatta, if you know even little bit about the hindus then you might be knowing about panchang and kundali stuff that stuff also needs 0 to calculate the things and hence 0 was existing even before Aryabhatta but off course it's the invention of Indians.

Actually it is very logical that zero was invented in India. In Hindu spiritual practices the whole point is to stop thinking or in other words think of Nothing. But putting that out in words is difficult so terminologies were developed. This later developed into the mathematical concept. And regarding the shape of the zero, it is from shape left behind when a stone or object embedded in sand or soil is removed.

@@Xyz04 We might think so, but that is not the case. Infact, just like other religious texts of Hinduism even the use of zero was only 'written down' much later than its actual use. There are documented history of Indian traders in Rome who had serious advantage as they could mental math calculations due to the decimal system that they follow. Romans were at a disadvantage as they had a different alphabet for every large number and arithematics was a mess. So, it might feel logical now but there was many centuries before the world adapted the Hindu system. Infact, Europeans were forced into by the Arabs during their European Conquest.

@@Xyz04 So, what you are saying is that there is no point awarding Noble Prize to scientists because if they had not done the discoveries someone else would have done it!!! I will have to disagree. You are assuming that evolution would only favor an increase in intelligence, but that has only happened by chance. It has been found that super intelligent people are prone to dipression and have a greater tendency of suicides. So, if the society stops encouraging intelligence, people with these ability will have a lower chances of survival hence lower chance of passing on the intelligence genes. Over the period of time, science and math would be irrelevant. You have to remember in the entire scheme of things humans has been part of the story only for the 200,000 years out of the entire 3 billion years of evolution. Scientific thought has only been part of our last 2000 years or so. And it can just as easily become irrelevant under the pressures of evolution.

He get up that idea when birds stops waving their wings and keep them straight in order to glide..
