There is this one very simple feature which I know wasn't in Windows 10 and am really sure wasn't in early versions of Windows 11 which I find priceless. That feature is to reorder your pinned taskbar programs with the keyboard. I for many years have found it so annoying when I change one of my pinned programs and want to move it to a certain position. I have to remove the programs in front of that position and then add them later. So if I want my email client to be in position 2 then I have to get rid of the programs which were in position 3 and beyond. Then if I change my email client but have gotten into the habit of pressing Windows + 2 for my email client I have to go through the whole process again. I don't know when they changed this but using "Alt + Shift + Arrows" let's you move your pinned programs where you want. It's simple but such a relief of a change.

Market Share data of anything on any site will either be a fluctuating hit or miss. For instance: Steam hardware survey of November 2024 is that 48.80% of Windows 11; 47.46% of Windows 10; 0.28% of Windows 7 users agreed to the optional survey as there might be more Win11 users out there. Any Debian based distribution should be great. Avoid Arch till you are a bit more experienced. Fedora is also great but majority of linux guides keep Debain in mind. Just that you need to setup the non-free repositories which is a one time thing post installation.

I don't bet that at all Brett. Microsoft has handled this release in a fundamentally different way than their old OSs. Windows 10 is a better operating system. It has more, and better features. It doesn't have "AI at every level of the OS," as stated as an MS goal. Too bad I guess. And in windows 10 you can chose your default apps - easily. You can also move the taskbar. And, it's still possible to avoid edge forced integration in Windows 10. I've been an avid windows user since Window 3.1. Windows 11 is fundamentally different from a different and worse kind of company.
