#QOTD I always score and fold. I'm a bit late this month because we were out of town visiting our daughter and her family. We got to meet the 4 foster children she has in her care at the Palmer Children's home. We all sat down at a massive farm house table. There were 12 of us sitting down for dinner then shortly after we sat at the table and made artwork for cards. It gave me the absolute best feeling in the world.

QOTV I score and fold. I actually score on both sides. That prevents cardstock “cracking” no matter which direction I fold. I also use my bone folder tool to deliberately fold the card so the front of the card is just barely bigger than the back. It’s not noticeable, but it does make it easier for the seniors at the nursing home (where I donate) to open them.

I love this #SLOC for the month and will be using it for the Christmas cards I make each year for the meals on wheels program in my county. 250 cards this year! But I love making them and knowing that each senior will have a remembrance with their Christmas meal. TFS. I appreciate the hard work (and math!) you do each month.

I'm still really liking these papers and color combo. I think my favorite one was the bee flying around the jar of honey. I'm looking forward to checking in on the whole collaboration team, as I know they'll have some lovely combos, too. #QOTV I always score before folding. The fold is cleaner and it doesn't take any time at all with the Scor-Pa -- or at least it saves some frustration if my fold cracks or is not crisp. I'll sometimes use the scoring blade on my paper cutter, but I do prefer the score board. Thanks for another nice SLOC.

Hi, I've been enjoying making cards with you for several months now - I have a question about the ATG gun. Do you ever have problems with it? I seem to - every.single.time.I.have.to.change.the.tape. I'm beginning to hate it. Any ideas on how I can make it work better? It isn't cheap to replace that tape!
@sandradowkes4812 жыл бұрын
Oh, and, I do use a score board, but I usually have to make sure the edges are aligned before creasing the edge, because it's often not even.
@CallMeCraftyAl2 жыл бұрын
I have had mine for about 10 years and while it has given me fits in the past, I have the tape change down to about 30 seconds. Maybe next time I have to change mine I can do a quick video. I also get my off-brand tape from Tape Jungle and it is much cheaper than the scotch brand refill. Thanks for watching!

#QOTV Scoring by hand never gave me a clean fold, even after using a bone folder. I always use a score board with a ball tip stylus, and a teflon bone folder. I don't use the bone folder until I make sure the cut edges are lined up because even the scored card doesn't always give an even fold. Another tip I've learned is to score the full sheet first, then cut the card base. Saves a little time on scoring individual card bases.

Sounds like a great "cheat" to me :) Thanks for taking the time to watch and answer the #QOTV!

#QOTV Always score and fold. Sometimes I make the whole card before I fold anything. I got the Scor-Buddy for free when it came out, got the bag for it too (not free I think). I also have the Scor-Pal 8th with a free bag. Great for travelling! I was looking for inspiration for some cards I'm making for my MIL and I think I'm going to go with this style in A7 size. Happy New Year! Nicole PS I have the same envelopes and they are called #8. For the regular slimline, the envelopes are #10.

I like the idea of folding later - would keep the base flat while you add everything. Thanks for watching and sharing your QOTV answer :)
