I found one in France whilst out for a walk. A plane that crashed in the 1960's coming back from algeria. It is irretrievable has lost its engines and wings but the fuselage is still there. I think it may have been for parachutists.

The B-17 E is one of the last of its kind. Most surviving models are B-17 G models. The Memphis Belle is a B-17 F model.

Not true regarding the "only surviving B17 in the world" I flew on one about three months ago! Ye Old Pub was her name and there are others out there too including Liberty Belle being restored by The Liberty Foundation in Georgia, USA.

The purported BE-12 on the pylon is obviously not this type of aircraft. The engines are radial piston engines and not turboprops that would be found on the BE-12. I suspect that the aircraft is actually a much older design that preceded the BE-12 in Soviet service.
@milesm14655 жыл бұрын
The aircraft on the pylon is a BE-6, much older than the BE-12 with very little in common between the two.
