12 phpMyAdmin set password for root user

How to set a password for the root user in phpMyAdmin.

hi there, i followed exactly every single step that you show on the video, but when i go to change the password in the config.inc.php and i try to save it gives me an error: ***** This operation couldn't be completed, because an error occurred. The authenticated save for this file failed (application error code 20004) ***** , and then i try to refresh phpmyadmin i get another error and i am stacked. I already uninstalled and reinstalled XAMPP twice and now i am going to do it for the third time. This is the error i get when i try to reload the phpmyadmin after the changes in your video: mysqli_real_connect(): (HY000/1045): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) Any helps? Thanks.

Try this: In the XAMPP control panel, stop Apache and MySQL Open C:\xampp\mysql\bin\my.ini in your editor. Find the line beginning [mysqld] Just under [mysqld], add a blank line and add 'skip-grant-tables' (without the quotes) Restart Apache and MySQL. Let me know if that works/doesn't work!

I am not able to edit the config.inc.php file, because I don't have the permission. Meanwhile, I can't get into myphpadmin either.

I followed his steps and when I reloaded I was brought to the login screen. I just entered root as my username and the new password that I set and it worked. I didn't change any file data or anything else.

its a constant learning process and we should humble ourselves more then BOAST about how awesome we , im convinced yu can agree, and Im sure yu have alot of talent, One of the biggest lesson ive learned is to never for a minuie let my amaizng accomplishments,, and talents _ & or akills cloud my head... in my 20s i did that at my vey first big high profile tech jobs.. and i kept getting better and learned fast,, and then the $$ came, and then i caught myself.. having a private laugh with myself thinking i was smarter then the , next... that can really be detrimental if another human being felt that they were belittled .... & not alot of confidence or fear of JUST NOT BEING SMART ENUF LETS ..MAYBE TO BE A SOFTWARE Engineeet i think u get my point :) 💌💦
