I was in the market to buy a Nissan Leaf because they had some good deals on used ones with plenty of mileage left on them a few months ago. But some folks addressed the reviews, that the Leaf was a tired model and just looks old. My response was "Good, then nobody will want to steal it. I don't need an envy-car with a trillion features I'll never use. I need something that gets me from A to B with a reliable track record." Missed out on getting it because my current car needed an overhaul after it got partially flooded & it wiped out my budget, but it turned out to be a good thing because I had to change jobs & I can't afford those payments today. Honestly, I hope my little Versa lasts another 200K miles at least so I can have time to save up for it's replacement (and I love my little bare-bones features car). I just started a "no buy year" today & hope I can halt and start reversing my debt (and earn skills to work from home, saving me mileage in the long run).

✨️Love your channel: I survived the nightmare of no money saved with high debt! Years ago I stopped going to shopping malls. I started buying used clothes household goods on Ebay and in thrift stores. I bought a derelict home and spent 8 years renovating. A home can be a huge money drain if not managed correctly. All furniture was bought on Craigslist. Walmart became my go to for groceries. My yard uses no water, or chemicals, it's biodiverse. Yes I traveled but very budget. After surviving a bankruptcy and near homelessness due to credit card spending, and no savings, I turned it all around at age 45 and now at 72 have a lifestyle that is debt free with, a healthy retirement fund and comfortable. Yes, I still work but at my own business 20 hours a week, still saving and investing.

The problem is, when you wipe up a spill with a cloth, you kind of need to hang it somewhere to dry before putting it in a separate laundry bag...that's the part I hate....However, I have cut WAY BACK on them!

Excellent video! I do take issue with life getting "harder and harder as you keep going through it." This has not been my experience and suspect many others would agree. Speaking as someone twice your age, I no longer care what others think about my choices, I have a better sense of what's truly important than I did at, say, twenty-five; I appreciate people and my relationships with them more; I have a better perspective on life's journey and what I want mine to look like. Finally, when you have a better relationship with yourself -- less self-critical and less critical of others , more willing to forgive -- life gets easier and much more fun. Just my two cents!

Lastly, since January of 1984, I have paid NOT ONE ¢ENT on interest, surcharge, or late fee on ANYTHING. Even my nice used card, I purchased it ¢A$H. A pretty good list all right. But we do buy paper towels. We foster cats and they, especially when kittens, are messy little things. The cost of the paper towels is more than offset by the time saved in not having to deal with piles of fabric towels used to clean up cat messes, and also there's a big savings in the "ewww, gross" factor. Other than that we don't really use paper towels.
