Many of us men will relate to the stabbing in the back thing. Even so our strong reactions still surprise people. I'm a quiet, passive and seemingly submissive guy, but I draw the line. I'm not talking about infidelity here, I'm talking about more serious betrayal, typically from other men - say professional. They mistake my passivity for a general weakness and try to take extra advantage of me, maybe after I've gone all out to help them. I won't succumb to emotional blackmail or other manipulative behaviour either. I seldom show my anger, and never compete in manipulation. I just freeze people out. I've even had women physically threaten and assault me, but I'm unphased, and I won't budge when I know they are being outrageous. Does anyone else relate to this?

I hated these archetypes. I refused for the longest time to believe in any of them because I am different and a bit of an Enigma and go my own way. Then somebody said that is exactly a Sigma. (Damn it!). However, these videos really help me to embrace and become who I truly am. You can't escape who you truly are and there is no point in trying to be someone your not. Why anyone would want to try to do this seems pointless and unfulfilling.

Musk very obviously is as much a Sigma as it gets - but he's one in actual leadership roles and he just cannot tolerate employees that do not meet his high work standards. I understand where he comes from; in my last leadership role I had the same intolerance to the members of my team who wanted to have everything spoon-fed to them and who would not want to step up their game and who would not prioritize serving our customers over their own laziness. Despite our empathy, Sigmas in leadership roles are not social workers. We have a lot of understanding for each member of the team and we give a lot of leash and grant a lot of space for individual freedom and personal development, but at the same time we can be very relentless when people refuse to do the jobs they're getting paid for. Don't mistake our empathy and kindness for weakness or softness.
