I'm 36 now, and I feel privileged to have been able to watch AMA motocross when I was young. I heard about a young kid coming up the ranks #259 riding a Kawi and dominating Loretta. He didn't disappoint when he came of age and turned pro. He rode with on the edge, 110%, all passion and grit. Riding on the edge did catch up with him with injuries, but he was always amazing and exciting to watch. It's sad, but I respect that he retired when the passion and love started to die down.

I think Stewart at his prime on a perfect setup will always be the GOAT in terms of raw speed. Carmichael even said that no matter what James always had a little something extra in the tank during a race, he could consistently push the envelope beyond what was thought to be possible on a motorcycle and challenge the best in the world to up their game to stay relevant. The fact that the true "Bubba Scrub" was something he only did once in a while proves that as fast as he was, he was so fast he could only realistically give it 100% when the stars aligned or else he would yard sale every race xD Jett is the next Stewart too in terms of pushing the sport to the next level, though I don't think Jett has the pure raw speed James did in his prime.

that's why track racing sucks. it's not about how fast you are, it's about who can cut someone off in a corner and line up again without feeling like a douche bag and doing it again. for upcoming supercross hopefuls, if you can do that with a straight face on the line, you're in. showboat. it's the rules, cry to the promoters and get sanctions on who's doing it back. do it when you're in the lead is different, doing while you're second making the final pass comes down to timing the finish line, wow. learn how to jump at home and cut off who's close. it's turned into hollywood, the old roller skate tv show in black and white, "roller derby."
