Very practical & lots of important information regarding cook times & shortcuts (like freezing food in individual portioned containers ahead of time! ).

@@avianmariner Thank YOU for creating it! I myself bought quite a few 12v items for the same reason you did….to be able to function if no other power sources exist… I live in a high fire prone area of California & back in 2018, 33% of my town & 90% of the next town over burned in the deadliest fire in California’s history (Camp Fire). Since then I’ve made it my mission to outfit my car with cooking essentials & power sources as well as other camping equipment. I bought a cargo van for sleeping too. Of all the channels for Van life & boondocking, I find you have the best tips!

@@irishgrl Just thinking about those fires makes me sad! I wish more people would be proactive and prepared for nightmare events! Thank you for your kind compliment 😊 Lynn

You're in the small minority of KZbinrs who actually know what they're doing, apparently all the time, when it comes to efficiently using small appliances in a vehicle. I've also found that your equipment recommendations are really excellent. I look at a lot of equipment, and you still manage to come up with stuff that I've never seen a close equivalent of.

That's awesome. I saw the other day a lunchbox w a timer that will start to heat at a certain time such a great idea. Very handy and resourceful. Love the video as usual ❤❤❤❤

I don't have specific videos with pre made food. Many of my camping videos, as well as some of the cooking videos feature a food or foods that I freeze and take along. Chili, Irish Pasties, stir-fry, homemade beans, etc. I cook a lot! Since there are are only 2 of us in the household, there's always too much food, so I freeze it into portions for travel. Once frozen, they are ready to put in my vehicle refrigerator/freezer. (it runs on dc, or a portable power station) Thanks for watching, and at some point, I will probably do a video on, "food for the road. " Lynn (AvianMariner)

Love those 12v appliances! My next experiment is to use my 12v fridge as a freezer on a week long car camping trip. I had already decided to prep my meals in advance (meat & veggies - using already frozen broccoli or mixed veg) and freeze in ziplock bags. Then put them into my 3 cup Pyrex pan to cook. I am also going pre-measure out some frozen blueberries into ziplock bags to go in my breakfast. If this works out I can prep a bunch more meals for a long trip this summer. #RestAreaDining

In one of the first videos I filmed, I used a Grizzly Cooler ( rotomold construction) in conjunction with the AstroAi. It kept cold in 90+ degree temps in a tent for almost 3 days before ice had to be replaced ... though I should have supplemented the watery ice sooner. Why I use it ? I have non-freeze food / liquids to travel with on really long trips and I also don't want leftovers etc to attract, " animals." Just a thought 😊 Lynn

Thank you for showing the temperature of the food in the HotLogic. That was very helpful. I saw some videos of people trying to cook raw meat in other brands of hot lunch boxes and it didn't look so good. I am wondering if it is possible to fully cook raw meat in the HotLogic? NIce video.
@avianmariner10 ай бұрын
Yes it is possible. The recipe book that came with it shows, "Monterey chicken" with raw meat ( 21/2 hour cook time.) I agree with you on some of the attempted food offerings I saw before purchasing it! lol I just purchased the AC model for my husband to take to his office! Lynn (AvianMariner)

Yes, raw broccoli florets or asparagus take a minimum of 45 minutes to cook raw (I add 2 tablespoons of water), and they are still nicely cooked if you forget, or can’t stop for lunch right away. As far as raw meat, I’ve cooked boneless chicken thighs, salmon fillets, and pork chops all at least 2 hours, but usually longer just to be sure (I bring along a pokey needle thermometer to check that it got to a safe temperature). On chicken sausage that is precooked if I slice it up and put in the raw broccoli in the Pyrex pan with lid like she showed I’m comfortable with it heating up/ cooking the same shorter time the vegetables take. Oh I have put frozen veggies in with my meat, too.

I've had good luck with the AC corded version of the hot logic mini using an inverter. It's nice in a way that it can be used in a hotel room or at a pavillion picnic area that has an AC outlet nearby or if you're at a campground with power. Let us know if you come across a two slice toaster, that allows you to only energize one slot at a time to drop the wattage down.

The hotlogic is great! My Husband bought the AC version to bring to his office after he saw my video. I had a 2 slot toaster years ago that had individual controls but haven't seen one recently. Usually only 4 slot toasters. If I see one, I will update this comment 😊 Lynn
