I did look into the book and I didn't see anything saying it was written by someone other than Northrup.

"1853 memoir and slave narrative by American Solomon Northup as told to and written by David Wilson" So it's not like he made it up, or that Northrup was not involved.

There's a reason why he used a white man to write his book its to appeal to white people at the time and try to make them aware about slavery and its cruelty... Its not that the white man used his story it was basically using his platform

@@WhytheBookWins That's the arguement modern white supremecists and neo-nazi's want to make. That the story was made up. At least that's what they tell each other. When you hear a partial truth like "It was written by a white man", it 10000% is a dog whistle. This is the only type of forum those people have to blow their dog whistles, so they litter the comment section on every video about this book and movie with the exact comment @stephenholmes1036 made.
