Assalamualaikum, congratulation on the revert to Islam. May Allah guide us all but there is one thing that I disagree on is the worthy of worship when saying the shahada in English. In Arabic translated estahik eleibada which is not in the shahada. I will give you an example why we should not say this. Here's the example if a Christian reverts to Islam none worthy of worship except Allah. But maybe I could call on Jesus for help for mercy and so on. So it should be I testify there is no God except Allah. I testify Mohammed is the messenger of Allah. That way there is no possibility to believe there are other gods besides Allah. straight to the point. Assalamualaikum.
