I have two black hunter longbows that I like very much. I have an older riser that was made out of maple diamond wood which is a heavier riser. I have another black hunter I bought from Lancaster archery and the riser is made out of a lighter in weight diamond wood. I bought 42 pound longbow limbs off Amazon also the limbs were a total one inch longer than the Lancaster black hunter.I do put one quarter elevated leather strip on the shelf. This I find center shots the bow better.

NICELY DONE. It's impressive that TopArchery watched your review of their metal-riser recurve and sent you this bow, in part to demonstrate that the company has been working on its quality control. That's precisely what major Australian dealer Steven Hann has reported (on KZbin) about the TopArchery brand, which he sells. You wanted some feedback on the new camera, and I noticed the improvement in clarity right away. Now here's some unrelated feedback that you DIDN'T request: First, you are undoubtedly a better shot and more successful bowhunter than I'll ever be. That said, the longtime coach in me noticed that you drop the bow slightly (but abruptly) right after releasing each arrow. MY early archery coach told me that this would hurt my accuracy/consistency, and when I stopped doing it, my groups were better. You might consider re-watching yourself in this video and seeing whether you agree. (I could DEFINITELY be wrong.)

Thank you for watching and the feedback. I e had that little hitch in my shot process for about 4 years now, and I have tried a million things you get rid of it. Here recently I have changed my shot process a bit and have reduced that drop significantly. I used to have the problem of drawing my bow and losing focus of the target as I found my anchor, so my bow would drift high and right. I would start to move to target and as I did, I would drop the bow back to aim as I released in a real quick motion. I had it so long that I got really good at controlling it. I started drawing low and anchoring different and it has helped me significantly.

I have this exact riser, with 50lb limbs, and I have the natural wood with 30lb limbs. It's a little soft on the finish (as I stratched it easily), but for a starter bow, it's nice.

I like the quality of the new camera. Very crisp and clear. If you get a chance take a look at Armin Hirmer's review of the PMZ Coral snake. Woods a little different but sure looks like the same bow to me.

They are beautiful, they shoot great. I ordered a 50# bow they sent a 45# bow,.....I kept it because it shot great. Nice and light compared to a Fad bow one with a aluminum riser see they are heavy. I think 3 of these bows is about right.

I've been planning on getting this bow for a while now. Your video has convinced me. It would be great to see a review of the 15" riser ILF recurve they make. Basicially the same as your bow here, just an ILF version.

Very cool. Going down the rabbit hole of all these different "portable" and compact bows. What's your favorite? There's this CFSB folding bow that i like, heard a lot about the black hutner bow too
@feelthespiritofthewildАй бұрын
@@Ascendsean35 for me it highly depends on what you’re looking for, and what you like. My favorite bow I own is the bear mag takedown. Just because the grip and weight of the bow, but for me it’s all preference. The black hunter is a decent bow, but it’s hard to tell what you’re gonna get at a cheap price point like that. These cheap bows have a tendency to not be the poundage you order and it’s labeled, and not all of them are good.

I have had my Black Hunter for a little over three yeas. I love it. My nephew ordered one. His vibrates all over the place. It is just plain uncomfortable to shoot. I guess it is just the luck of the draw with the less expensive bows.
@feelthespiritofthewild10 ай бұрын
Typically it’s the quality control that makes them cheap. The good thing is they often accept returns and you can send em back and get another. I’ve tried a few budget bows, but this is the only one I’ve ever got that shot good.

i bought a recurve on amazon made by tidewe it has a 35lb draw for me to learn with and at 35lbs its fairly easy to hold at full draw.. i have been a compound shooter forever .!! any how this bow look very similar to the one you have!! Mine came with a stringer, a tab ,a string, 6 tidewe branded carbon arrows 500 spine 30 inch and .006 straightness. i ordered feather fletched arrows but i did mess with it shooting vanes off the shelf but the result wasnt good cause arrow flight not good..any how when i get my arrows i will set it up properly and try to get into traditional archery!! Looks like fun but i havent used a stick bow since i was a kid !! Thanks for the video very informative!!

Ordered twice and once the limbs were 5lbs less and the next time they were 5lbs more than ordered. The main issue I have is that this bow uses the same riser design as the Black Hunter (Junxing F171, F178). But the limb attachment is not compatible with Black Hunter limbs. You would expect that a small company like Toparchery/Huntingdoor would have their bows following the existing standards. But for no good reason they decided that their riser and limbs not be compatible with anything else. So, Toaparchery you suck!
@feelthespiritofthewild4 ай бұрын
@@AntHill-l9w that’s the biggest thing with cheaper bows. The bow is usually pretty decent but quality control is the issue. Some people get them and think they’re awesome for the price, but others will get them and they won’t be the same. Anything under 400$ you can expect little quality control, but for beginners it’s good to have the cheaper option. As long as it flings the arrow for them and doesn’t make the experience unenjoyable.

Son , there's far to many high caliber traditional American bowyers worthy of support for You to sell out . Damn shame .
@feelthespiritofthewild9 ай бұрын
That’s very true. However a lot of people that want to get into the sport may not be able to afford a 500$ bow. The Bear Montana is probably the best option I can think of as a beginner bow, and it sells around 400$. I try not to even go to Walmart because I strive so hard to support American made or small/local business. That being said, there are people that want to get into shooting trad bows that can’t afford that 400$ Montana as a first bow, so they never even start. As they begin with the foreign made bow, they may get to the next point to be the next person to keep custom bowyers in business. They never paid me to do this. I just figured it would be a good option for beginners who can’t afford 750$ to get started before they even know they like it. Thank you for watching and your input! Have a great day!
@twintwo14299 ай бұрын
Buying what you can afford, is not selling out, and if the quality and performance of imports gets a little better, American bow manufacturers will be in real trouble. Blame the politicians and big business for the lopsided trade agreements. Watch what happens when they let the cheaper trucks and cars come in.
@romangrayjr2 ай бұрын
Tough situation, for sure. I typically avoid the knock-offs when buying a trad bow. But when a bow that fits a 13 year old boy has to cost $400-$500 new, and it's just to get him started in the sport.. that's a tough pill to swallow. So... I've got only two options: buy a bow like this one, new... or buy a used one. The next bow I get for him will be a new one from a genuine bowyer, if he makes it that far.
@samhiss68072 ай бұрын
Show me one that sells a starter bow under $200 so new people to the sport can get started to see if they like it. Some of those boyers you are referring to have reviewed these cheap Chinese amazon bows and promote them because it does get new trad archers started.
