The most important issue with a cheap bass is whether the neck is not twisted, and has the right forward curve when set up to give reasonable action without much buzzing . Wish you would mention rhat

The neck won't be twisted if you don't order from a no name brand that ships from literally the other side of the world. You sound like you have a lot of experience buying from Ali.

@@razztastic My current instruments are mostly from Gibson, Martin and Fender. The article is about a bass for under $200, Where were you thinking a bass in that price range is from?

This was my first bass :) Only changed the strings to Fender flats, still enjoy it but think about to change the pickups to EMG's. For the rest, bang for your money :)
