120 Prado Solid Axle Swap | Ep. 2 Getting Sh

Getting a cycling front end and sorting some things out in the Solid Axle Swapped 120 series Prado
I'm not a mechanic, just a kid with a bad haircut and a MIG welder, everyone has their own way of doing things so don't take mine as the be all and end all.

Boy, it was a lot easier using leaf springs on my first gen Toyota Tacoma S.A.Swap and after thousands of miles, they work, ride and she drives Awesome! No regrets! Great work on whatever this weird name of this Yota is, I have no idea what a Prado is , but it's looking sweet with a real axle in front! I did use a Toyota axle, I'm not a fan of Toyota front axles, I went with a Hybrid Jeep Dana 30HP with Dana 44 outers and Chevy k10 steering knuckles with a 6 lug , locker, fully sleeved 1/2" thick tubes, after a few offroad trips and thousands of miles, best thing you can do with a Toyota IFS! I left my IFS in a garbage 🗑 pale in New Jersey 😆 Where it belongs! I've fell in love with my truck 🛻 all over again and she's a beast offroad and on! #toyotawithajeepaxle and my KZbin channel if anyone wants to check it out, and it's definitely not cheap to do a S.A.Swap, but worth every penny!

Hey man, just started following your build and not sure if I’m missing something but are you staying 4.1s with diffs? I’ve got a gq swapped surf here in nz and gone with 4.88 gears in the patrol diffs on 37s and it’s pretty much spot on with high way driving. I wouldn’t even entertain 4.1s I reckon it would be a pig. Haha. I’m also running dual transfers with Marin crawler gears. Cool build you’re doing

Hey man, yeah that’s correct, 4.1’s, it’s gonna be dailyed on 34’s ish most of the time, wheeled on 35’s and have room for 37’s eventually But just to get it on the road without paying through the teeth for diff gears I’ve just found an 80 series 4.1 and patrol 4.1, regear to 4.3’s or 4.6’s will probably be on the cards later on
