Love warching this work.. These guys are top notch how the work so fast and all.. The 1st time I saw one of those machines Mr Odell was talking about, the 4 foot & 3 foot machines. They're called floats, right? When I was about 5/6 years old my dad brozght me over to a job at midnight to help him while he floated the floor of our local church.. It was brilliant to watch. I didn't want to walk on te floor bcos my dad said it was concrete but it had all this creamy water on top. I thought it was still realky wet and that I'd sink into quicksand. 😂 😂 😂 I loved goibg onto the job at that time being on my summer holidays so me dad would bring me ovwr at night to do some finishibg work on the job. When we movwd to this area where new homes had been built there wasn't even a local shop. No school, Church or anything so my dad go jobs on all the big building jos in the area. It was a brilliant time to be alive in the early to mid and latw 1970's guys. It was the best time I can recall inmy early childhood bcos everything was new.. I probablysoubd like an eejit atm but I'm only reminiscing tbh. 😂 😂 😂 Love the channel btw lads.. Keep making these brillian videos bcos they're helping me out no end. Respect to all the guys on this huve job

David, this was very interesting. It's nice to see such a big crew that everyone knows what has to be done next. I'm up in Maine and most of our houses are on an eight-foot foundation, sometimes they are not so deep if they are on ledge and the customer doesn't want to pay for blasting. If you haven't watched him, check out Mike Day on KZbin. He does flat work in Maine.

we drop the stem walls as rebates that finish 150mm below the house finished floor level. same with garages rebates if the design is to attach house floor as a complete pour. or we pour footings for garages and pour the garage floor with a driveway (after the garage build is complete) as well as another area of the house. so I find this method very interesting.

Don't understand why they don't have 12 foot tall basements and live in the basement when it gets hot because its cooler but those houses are cheap i guess... expensive to buy but cheap and close together.. anyway nice to see how they work out there looked like a nice group of guys... maybe it was the camera HA! nah they seemed like nice young men... @@OdellCompleteConcrete About 3-4 hour drive. All the housing out here is post tension slabs. Very rarely are there any footing/rebar type of pours. its cheaper and easier for these builders to have a single 6" slab with no footings that they just lay right ontop of the ground, then do the post tension cables and grade around the house. probably can lift the entire house by the slab, lol.
