Nice build and excellent flying characteristics. I like how well that this kit performs. I had purchased the upgrade kit S2304B with the covering and electronics kit a few months ago, but I didn't start building it until this week. This will be my third balsa build, but my first flying model. I'm watching select videos for tips and tricks. I agree that the Loctite thin CA is the glue to use. I'm also using Gorilla wood glue on some joints that do not have a tight fit. On joints that are too tight I sand them down until they fit snug. Thanks for a great video!

Hi, sorry for replying late a haven't been on for a while. Hope your build went well. It is a very impressive kit for the price. Didn't get round to making part 2 but did get some video pushing this plane further it's around the 5.20 and 7.20 minute mark: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5iXZ6KDZ76AY9E I still have it, it has taken a lot of beating and still runs fine. The cowling is cheap though and breaks easily. World Models make a fibreglass cowl which happens to fit very well, you can see it on the other footage. Yes Gorilla glue is perfect for gaps and also jb weld when its metal on metal.

Did you find out what the 12 fiberglass mesh ovals are that came in the kit flat ovals with two elongated holes in it

Did you ever find out what those fiberglass mesh ovals were that came in the kit, 1 sheet with 12 in three rows of four. I cant see it anywhere on the prints??

I'm building this kit myself I'm now at the end, can I ask you a question? How you colored the cowl?

Hope you see this comment... I have a customer sending me this kit. It looks like the wing isn't straight, like it has a bit of anhedral. I saw it in the kit's ad on Banggood and in your video too. Is it so or I'm seeing things?
@gabrieledagostino39482 жыл бұрын
No it is not straight it is tilted upwards

Hi I ordered this kit too. Could you give links of all the other products you bought to make it fly? Thanks a lot :)

Hi, I’ve just ordered this kit. Just wondered how you went about mounting the motor and what exact motor you used. Looks very capable with that setup 👍
@bluehangar45504 жыл бұрын
Hi the motor is a D4023 850kv. most motors around 100g like a 3542 size with similar kv and prop should give you good performance on 4s. As for mounting, if it doesn't fit the standard holes, drill some new ones and you can plug the old ones or add another layer of ply to the firewall if the new holes weaken it. I plan to do a follow up vid where I'll go through some mods, etc.

@@bluehangar4550 But did you put anything between the motor and the firewall?
@bluehangar45504 жыл бұрын
No I just screwed it on, although since the maiden I have added a washer to the top of the motor mount to add some down thrust so the plane won't pitch up at full throttle. I'll take a close up on the next video.

@@bluehangar4550 BTW your GoPro might be causing the stall
@bluehangar45504 жыл бұрын
I haven't noticed much difference without it. Since the vid, I made a clear canopy and swapped it out for an fpv cam. Stall is ok but it does tip stall a bit.

Do I need to use thin ca or does medium/thick do the same job? All I have is gorilla super glue
@bluehangar45504 жыл бұрын
I strongly recommend using thin CA. Original Loctite CA has a very good consistency for balsa. If you use thick CA, it wont soak into the joints whereas with liquid CA you just align all the parts and add a few drops to each joint. It will be much easier, quicker to build and stronger this way.

How much glue is needed to build 1 plane? Is 28 grams (1 oz) enough?
@konstamattsson4 жыл бұрын
Also, is the normal Loctice super glue thin?
@bluehangar45504 жыл бұрын
Yes the normal Loctite ca is thin. 28g should be plenty, I think I used less than 10g in total.

The battery hatch is stock and the other hatch I cut out myself

Is it a clipped wing or a standard cub?
@bluehangar45504 жыл бұрын
I think it's a standard cub but it already has a pretty high roll rate.
