X7YZ Gaming optane would make absolutly no sence in this case. Optane goes to 64GB and you cant place anything on it yourself. 3 NVME drives like the samsumg 960 series would be the best in this case. The 2tb versions even with this budget. Only use for optane in tbis case would be as a cache for the 10tb drives but that could be done more efficiently with larger nvme's

There's a great video that shows different styles of thermal paste applications. Spreading was by far the best option.

There is nothing wrong with how he did it, the pea method might be sufficient for regular CPUs but for a CPU like this one you need to make sure the thermal paste is spread evenly all across the processor, this is the best way to ensure that.

Jukefox the 1080ti's are better than Vega in every way, Vega 56/64 were the amd's counterparts for the 1080/1070 respectfully, until product inflation and price increasing along with Vegas power consumption/heat output, Pascal is probably your best go too for enthusiasts grade components as of right now unless AMD fixes the problems with drivers.
