122 - Very 1st Snow blower - Kubota BLMX3164 - 64" - First Snow Storm

In this video I test my new Kubota snow blower the BLMX3164 - 64" model. It is a second-hand snow blower in excellent shape that I picked up for a good price. I cut the driveshaft and greased it up. I mounted the blower onto my Kubota LX2610 compact tractor then leveled and squared the blower. I also adjusted the skid shoes, greased the auger, impeller and lubricated the chain and chute. Now it's time to try it out for the very 1st time.

Your going to love having a blower. A couple of things I’ve learned, a snowmobile can be a great thing. Plus I use winter chainsaw bar oil on the drive chain. It works great. Have fun!

The snowblower looks like new, Paul. One thing you might want to consider - those evergreen trees will block the snow and you will end up with a huge windrow along your driveway. You might want to blow in the other direction there. One advantage with a rear blower; you still have your front bucket to move snowpiles, if you have to.

Thanks Rick! Definitely agree with you on that. I have a lot of areas that are going to be a bigger challenge to what you seen. I went with a rear snowblower since I work in the bush a lot and mill wood so I need the grapple on the front most of the time but as you say the bucket will be handy to move snowpiles. Thanks Mike. I think that the blower is going to work out pretty good in the deep snow. LOL, I really don't have a desire for a cab. I get on and off the tractor so many times when I use it that a cab just wouldn't work out for me. I love the extreme cold in the winter and extreme heat in the summer. Have a good one!

Oh man Paul, snowblowing never fails to put a smile on my face! I see your blower is good old-fashioned manual chute rotation! Does your tractor have a set of rear remotes? Snowblowing with an open station, brave until you get that one weird gust of wind straight back in your face! 😂 Have a great weekend!

Howdy Alex, yes the blower is the good-old fashion manual chute. I don't have rear hydraulic remotes on the back of my tractor. The price of the blower was much less being one with a manual chute and I liked that. But I do have plans ... coming in future videos. A cab model like yours is definitely a lot more cozy to operate in the cold windy weather. I do have to get on and off the tractor several times to remove the snow from tight areas that I can't get at with the tractor so the open station is ideal for that. And most importantly if I had a cab I wouldn't be able to wear my rescue suit that I will reveal in an upcoming video. You too, have a great weekend!

Mount a two inch ABS pipe to the scraper blade at the bottom, then you can blow a gravel driveway without picking up rocks. Just cut a slit on the pipe with a jigsaw and metal cutting blade and slip it onto the blade.

Thanks Luc, the blower is in very good shape for a used one. So far I have only done the 2 swipes that you seen in my video then I put the blower away. There is no snow here. I think that I mentioned to you before that over the past few years there hasn't been enough snow to clear before mid January. I don't have any channel stickers yet since my logo is not finalized.
