For the people who dont know whats going on. You have to bring the score to exactly zero. The last dart you throw must be on a double. A double is any of the outer ring segments or the bullseye. The green middle segment is 25 Red middle segment (bullseye) is 50

Damn, I miss the days of the great Jocky Wilson and Bobby George when I was assigned to the United Kingdom. Van Gerwen was 17 or 18 when pictured here. He has something of a syndrome messing around with him and isn't the only one. Footballer Wayne Rooney also has the same thing - lack of a hormone which makes his figure like that - flabby, very much of the weight concentrated in lower body - and causes balding. Van Gerwen still plays football every now and then to keep fit. And at least, his weight in control.

In practical terms, going for the bull isn't a good strategy. 25 means you need a treble and a double (or bull bull) 50 means you need either a treble and a double (or 25 bull)

I do this checkout Bull+3x17+2x12. That's the easiest way along with 25+3x20+2x20. Fun fact - I always play Bull+2x12 from 74 because I really have trouble with double 10.

Don't leave 125, kids, it's a stupid finish. Besides, if you hit the Bull first dart, there's no reason whatsoever to not go T17 D12 instead of 25 BULL. Treble double is way easier

Question regarding strategy here. We know Taylor's lines of play based on where the first dart lands. I'm wondering if he's aiming for bulls eye or single bull with his first dart? Because he needs a single either way, and if gets it immediately, he can continue playing on the 20, which logically would be more comfortable than playing the bull and bulls eye. I first assumed he would always try to get the bulls eye with his first dart, and if he misses he still has a chance. But is single bull into bulls eye easier than T20 into D20? I don't think so. But I'm no darts player. I just like thinking about game strategy. Anyways, if I were Taylor I would aim for the iron separating the bull and bulls eye. I wouldn't wanna risk landing outside of the bull, but I wouldn't necessarily be happier with bulls eye than single bull with my first dart. Any players out there who knows first hand if it's easier to chase T20 into D20 or bull into bulls eye?
