I like see both the reef and the planted tanks. I myself have both and joy watching them change and grow over time. So keep up with showing both.

Fine with both avenues of the hobby, they both are fish tanks and learning more about the differences/similarities and tip and tricks will lead to everyone becoming better at their given flavor.

I'm a reef man, but I also really enjoy learning about the freshwater hobby. Besides, just because I'm a saltwater hobbyist at the moment, who says that I won't setup a freshwater rank in the future? Freshwater.....saltwater......it doesn't matter to me. I'll still watch them. Keep up the good work, Travis 👍

awesome! our current 125 is saltwater but we always talk about upgrading it to a bigger tank and turning the 125 into a planted tank.

You're the best reefer on KZbin, hands down. I definitely prefer the reefing side of the hobby, but the variety is nice

I have never had a planted fresh water tank so I would be very interested in learning more. I really enjoy the look of your tank so I might have to figure out where I could set one up.

Nice change of pace. Use to have a tropical tank many, many years ago not nearly planted 😁 Interesting to see how it's done. Trying to get my SPS growing and colored.

Very cool video. Great explanations. Looking at converting my existing saltwater system into a freshwater planted because I'm looking for a different challenge and I miss freshwater. What "liquid co2" did you use? I'm not really wanting to get into a co2 canister setup right now so I want to keep it pretty simple. But liquid dosing peaks my interest because I do the same with my reef.

I like both and have had both, but I definitely prefer reefs over fresh. However, I don't mind the freshwater content either

I wouldn't mind a few videos a month on the planted tank but I really am more interested in reef related stuff... Don't get me wrong your planted plant looks great problem is I just cannot relate to it cuz I own a reef tank and that is all I plan to have for now. Keep up the quality content Travis I really apprciate all the hard work you put into it.

Love the tank, i have a 125 also that is planted, but im struggling hard with BBA it getting to the point where i want to rip it all out and start over. Do you just rely on the nutrient from the substrate or do you also does extra nutrias? like PPs pro or EI ?

What else do you buffer the RO water with? I saw you have Equilibrium, how much do you mix in? Do you do anything for pH and KH? Anubias is okay in my tank, but swords are melting away. I don't know if it's the RO.
@rickhickman27306 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The tank looks amazing, you've done a really great job with it. Need to change my lighting and the first thing that jumped out at me was your setup. I have a mixed Malawi tank, with ancillary plants playing second fiddle to the fish in the tank lol. What are your thoughts on the jebao so far? If you were going to focus on low light plants, in the same tank would you cut down to fewer bulbs? I only keep swords, and hygrophila right now, but I'd like to add a few more low light plants if I could. I know my lighting is underpowered, my tank is the same size as yours but I only have 2 dual bulb shop lights over my tank.
@DeeFromBrooklyn6 жыл бұрын
Finally another plant and reef guy. Love it. . What did you do to reduce the light? Just remove bulbs or change spectrum. I swapped out two 5000k for 6500k and the hair algae went away

Im still trying to learn the planted tank stuff, so I will watch all of them. KZbin does not have good how to's on planted. They always just show the tank but never answer "Why?" And "how". Why the equalibrium, I give my planted tank RODI and it is not the way I want. I want the "Why and how" cause nobody I know can teach me. KZbin is my main resource. I can grow SPS all day but dwarf baby tears is still a mystery
