126 St Depot was actually a NYCTA Depot. The only NYCT garage deep within MABSOTA territory.

@@dodge1515 what are you talking about, 126th Street depot was clearly taken over by MaBSTOA which is under NYCT.

@NeilQVLGA6455 They are considered separate divisions within the MTA for some reason. Similar to NYCTA and Bus Company.

To be frank, I think the closure of Meredith depot was a mistake on the MTA's part as you just never know when you might need it again. Case in point, 126th with the LFS Hybrid issues, or Rockville Center Depot when the MTA was needing storage space to store some BC D4500CLs for LIRR shuttle work 6-7 years ago. NICE had closed it down by that point (after their dreaded 2017 service cuts) and was using it to store retired ex-Long Island bus Orion 5.501 CNGs, so it came in handy.

@@dodge1515 honestly, there is no need for the existence of Meredith depot as 1. It was on a temporary lease and 2. The depot was mad small. The MTA will always find other ways to find other lots to place their vehicles temporarily.
