1275 A-Series Engine Bay Guide

After several suggestions from you lovely lot, I have created this short video explaining in brief, each item under the bonnet of this 1275 A-Series Engine Bay. This is a super quick and hopefully easy guide to follow!
I know some of my followers like me, are more visually based as opposed to manual reading folk!
As always if i have missed something, or incorrectly labelled something, let others know below!

Can't get much simpler than that. I grew up with these engines in so many cars and they gave me a great grounding for later adventures. The Midget is the perfect sports car for beginning your classic car journey.

It really is. I mean. They still bite you in the bottom sometimes when you're working on them though. But that's old cars for you

Yes thats absolutely right! I am only 18 years old and i am happy i can work on my Austin Healey Sprite mk3. It has a 1275cc engine, su 4 carbs and it has a rally- sporty ish exhaust. I didn't get it to run right yet, but time will tell and once the weather is clearing up I cant wait to take it for a drive. My friend is going to buy a mazda mx-5 second gen witch i see as the granddaughter of the spridgets.

@@doit5560 Good the hear you're enjoying it. If you have the timing correct, valve clearance set correctly, and a good spark, it will almost certainly be the carb set up. Get yourself a decent vacumn gauge and spend some time balancing the carbs. Plenty of videos showing you how to do that. Have fun.

KISS ... keep it short and simple. Something new learnt today, the valve to regulate the coolant water heat (or not) to the heater box. One additional handbook ref to mention that I just got my hands on. The 1973 British Leyland Sprite Midget workshop manual. Yeah! Keep filming.

Very nice Andy , well done. Apparently the blue stuff in your washer/scoosher bottle gums up. I use Fairy Liquid. Also your car would not originally have been fitted with an electric washer pump. Keep the vids coming. I enjoy them.

I think it's through a small hole in the bulk head and pulls on the carburettor throttle mechanism
