At 45:24, the final position is fine but the start position needs to be 0 width. However you can argue that the start position width is already 0? which means pos->pos would work? How does the program interpret start position width when at that position, its actually got 2 width: 0 and 5.5m

Hi Jacky, The start position was not actually 0 but 4.2m which was applied via the width provided in the original template. Inserting the linemarking string pushed the KLL string a further 3.5m distance out. 12d Model produces two Cross Sections very close together (0.1mm) which is why when the command it turned off it steps out very sharply. Given the original 4.2m you need to pull the start width back to form the taper. If this is unclear, please call the 12d Model Technical Support staff on (02) 9453 9449. Regards, Rod Burns

"It produces 2 cross sections very closely (0.1mm)". Question 1) So does that mean if the 45:24 modifier start chainage is "PARKING alias - 0.1mm", the width would be 0? Question 2) And if it is indeed 0, pos->pos would work? thanks for replying.

Hi Jacky, Try thinking about it like this. The original width in the template was 3.5m. We inserted a linemarking string which was the same width (3.5m) so the edge of the road had a consistant width. Inserting the linemarking, pushed the KL (Kerb Lip string) out an additional 3.5m, or a total of 7.0m from the CL. So the width of the KL sting is and never has been 0. Hence why we need to pull it back from 3.5m to 0 forming the taper. If you wanted to use the pos > pos option. (often used for crossfall super elevation etc). You would simply modify the KL string (link) from 3.5 out to the total 7.0m width and not worry about the linemarking. Then given the original width of 3.5m and the new width of 7.0m the "pos > pos" would work as they are the new positions of the link. Hope this clears things up, again happy to take the Tech Support call if you want to discuss further.
