12ft Starcraft with 8hp Mercury 2 stroke

A good day on the Saugus River with my 1974 Starcraft 12 footer powered by a nice 8 horse Merc. Caught many a schoolie striper that day...loads of fun trolling with rather lite tackle.

I just bought a 12' with the same motor, took it out today with a buddy, close to 500lbs between the both of is. It didn't run nearly that well...

rokin89 ive owned mine since new ..then sat on side house a couple years ran like shit now i rebuilt the carb gonna see what it will do tommoro...these are motors are top of the line , i love mine

rokin89 news on my motor it runs great after carb rebuild but it wont open up all the way and when it does its in short burst sometimes it idles down and shuts off,then as soon i pull the cord im good for like 5 mins this is all at half throttle,and i have to have the lid off,acts like it is starving for air at times..any input on this would be very appreciated!! i bought power tune spray and new sight bowl filter,in the mail .i guess i will see what happens..i also bought new prop, had the old one reworked, had the lower unit serviced...also keep in mind i've neglected this motor and haven't ran it in a good 6 years or so..
