Excellent lecture! However, Mustafa Kamal never banned the abaya. He simply made it uncompulsory and gave the people liberty

Hijab has been banned throughout Turkey in official places and praying Namaz was also banned in army till Tayyab Erdogan has unbanned it recently. Correct your information. And this ban was part of Mustafa kamal's reformation agenda of Turkey which was based on disintegrating religion and state, naming it secular state. Mustafa kamal saved turkish territory but based his victory on destroyed and repainted culture, turkish script was banned, people were happy to get relief and accepted the change considering it the only option at that time. Now, there is again a rift of change and people are prepared to regain their forgone and compromised dignity in the exchange of so-called freedom.
