Frame your opening shot to include the 2b-mound-plate line AND 1B and his bag. That way you have less camera movement to capture the action (always a better choice). Then it's a simple zoom change to widen to get third in. Zooming to get the outfield action is a loosing proposition because usually you won't get there in time and you have just lost your main action. I've shot a lot of youth ball and analytics video/photo (a spray of 8 to 12 images actually is more useful to analyze swing or pitching mechanics than a video, even in stop action.) I enjoy youth ball more than pro anymore. Talk to facility admiin about possibly setting up a smoll portable platform in the stands a bit higher and in the pitch path to work with a lightweight tripod. Keep up the good work.
