Hillbilly Proud headed up to Carroll, OH between Lancaster and Columbus on July 31, 2016 for the 3rd Annual Awesome Acres Nitrous Outlaw Shootout with $13,000 on the line in just the Outlaw Class alone. We only had three hours of sleep after two nights of shooting at the Jackson Co Fair in WV, but the action woke us up right away. The race started with the Nitrous Outlaw Class at 9:30 am and it was as awesome as it has been every other year. The track is wide and not real deep but deep enough to get the mud flying. This is not the kind of speed pit the rails so often run. So many impressive rides from multiple states came to try to get in the money, which was broken down to ten spots. There were a few trucks that hit the sides and a bad flip, but in the end everyone was ok and the action was incredible. Next up was the Big Block All Throttle Class followed by the Small Block All Throttle Class. Just pure engine power without any nitrous in these classes. There was another roll over and a couple pretty impressive wheelies in the Big Block Class. We finished shooting after the kids class and part of the stock class was over due to our camera giving out. We lost two cameras in a month, but with our shooting style that is understandable. We are sorry some of the footage towards the end has so much distortion in it. Thanks to Steve Rhymer and all of the sponsors for putting on such an incredible event every year.
