I've been having a blast with Dreadqueen Rathian as my lead and rocking max Lv. Deathprize and Teostra's emblem, with Dreadqeen armor and a Hounding XL talisman for double massive damage buffs against status'd enemies 💣

Oh HEAVENS you're missing a ton of skills for the hunting horn, do try and dig them out and find those skills because there is an attack+crit up. Plus I may of been blind but there also is a vampire skill called bloodstrike. Party healing that works wonders

Stygian hh is my favorite weapon in the whole game. It's super powerful and its a glowing black and red guitar

Gunlance is basically full kinship every round once you get going, no amount of weapon dmg can beat always having 2-3 monsties with fll kinship in store, I rarely use anything else anymore lol

Loving the chrome razor. Looks nice and has noxious poison innate. One of the best great swords imho

In MHS1 Chrome Razor was definitely one of the better Greatswords in that game. Meanwhile in here it's definitely still a solid option but it's now got competition in the Noxious Poison with the Dreadqueen Weapons.

Velkanas Hunting Horn also has evasion riff (when you unlock it) which is a turn long absolute evasion for your entire team

All the HH styles have this "ultimate" song. Healing style has Evasion Riff, Defense/Support style has Awakening, Offense style has Bloodsuck, and the Purifying style has Negate Ailments

Just wondering how blastblight proc works (for sns). It says 12% chance but does that mean each hit with it has a 12% chance to proc? Cos sns skills hit like 5 6 times. Does that mean each of those 5 6 hits have 12% chance to proc blastblight? O.o

you need to do the side quests for HH, you dont have bloodsuck and evasion riff

I dont think so? Because with critical hits, if you get one crit every individual attack that turn is a critical hit.

That SnS was my go-to weapon in MHS1 for the longest time until I got the Fatalis SnS. I'm going out of my way to getting Eternal Hate again in MHS2.

Sorry to say they don’t stack, in this game they take the highest skill only, so if you had ice boost s, ice boost m and ice boost large, the game will use the highest boost only so the other two are waisted

isnt raw and elem damage 1:1 in this game though so non elem is just good middle of the road damage that doesnt get a benefit or resistance too? so no weapon type has an edge unlike the main games

Does anyone have any weapon recommendations for early game? I just arrived in Rutoh village and my weapons are quickly becoming obsolete. I typically use Sword&Shield, Hunting horn, and the Gunlance. Currently, I only have 2 options for the gunlance but I'm willing to switch to the bow if necessary.
