9 people are dead and 4 are still missing. I have been to this trek and it is part of my home district. I would like to request all people/travellers that it is okay to be enthusiastic after seeing youtube videos and travel mountains but please don't decide directly to go up on higher(greater) himalayas without any proper training and equipments. Especially in places like this. Forget about locals . They are born there. They have seen such harsh environment since childhood , they are so familiar to it that their body and anatomy is build such way. So please 🙏 don't travel up on greater himalayan region because weather really changes very quickly over there. Snow stroms, heavy rainfall, whitewash and hailstones are common there. You can still enjoy/feel same vibe on parts of lesser himalayas and Shivalik mountain range.

But these people had a trekking experience and went with the guides. What else precautions they could have taken ?

June and July and the toughest times for doing big terkking. Everybody knows it, even trekking organisations know it. Still they take risks. Mid August onwards, conditions become better for trekking.

Very sad to hear all this. Upto some extent traveling agency is also responsible. Their guides should try in any possible way to take trackers to base camp. 😢.

They are trekkers and not trackers

@@climbeverestya customers were trekkers but the company staff should have had a tracker as well. Everyone knows the weather changes suddenly in the mountains. Why were no precautions taken
