From what I understand , she didn't sing for the movie. She is not listed on the soundtrack as the singer for the songs she supposedly sang in the movie and they sound the same. I was obsessed with American Mall when it came out so I had the soundtrack and still have the DVD. I even watched the movie with commentary and if I recall they mentioned that she didn't sing her songs. I believe a woman named Kelly did or something like that. I always wondered if she could sing then why didn't she? If she can't sing why was she casted in a movie musical where every other actor did their own singing? and finally, why did they hire a woman with such a nasally little girl voice to sing her part. It was very jarring when she went from talking with a deepish gravelly voice to singing in a high pitched, nasally whiny baby voice.
