Suicide. For a few reasons. 1. Ron got shot because of his own intervention. 2. he was committing suicide anyways. 3. Taking the position of the gunshot wound and the speed at which he fell into account, he still would have been killed by the fall. He *was* shot in the chest afterall, so it would require a bit of time for him to bleed out first before he would die. But, because he fell feet first, all the blood would rush to the upper half of the body. This would reduce or prevent any blood leak during the fall. This prevents him from dying of blood loss, (you know, the thing that is deadly about being shot.) resulting in him being killed by the fall first. Meaning that it is suicide. Had he got shot in the neck or head, he would have died Instantly which would have made that old man a murderer. Lucky him.

It was both homicide and suicide *EDIT:* BECAUSE he loaded the gun right? So it was to kill the wife, so he loaded the gun, because he _knew_ that the father would threaten her wife again. So he jumped because he was "depressed". The father, who wasn't aware the the shotgun had bullets loaded in it, since it was _always_ unloaded, pulled the trigger, then _accidentally_ shot his son. That would take a _lot_ of time and effort if he planned to get shot otherwise as other people say that he committed "suicide". It wouldn't also be murder, since the father _unintentionally_ killed his son. Murder is a crime where the perpetrator/s actually planned it _or_ wanted it. So technically it is a case of _HOMICIDE_. Homicide is a crime where the perpetrator/s actually had no intent to kill the victim. That was the case with the father. Since Ronald actually _jumped_ from the top floor/rooftop, he actually committed suicide himself, so he was gonna die either way. So he actually killed himself if he jumps off. He wouldn't be dead if he didn't jump anyways. But the father actually had no intent to kill his son. So technically, we can't count it as a suicide, since Ronald wasn't the one who pulled the trigger. It wouldn't be homicide either, since Ronald wouldn't be dead if he didn't jumped off. So, finally I can rest typing, I conclude it as both cases of suicide _and_ homicide.

If you think of it the way detective or lawyer might, it becomes far more complicated. The son hadn't landed. Technically he might not have died (very slim chance. he likely wouldn't of had much of a life but still). The gun shot is what killed him. The bullets were intended for his mother, but his father had terrible aim. It was simply bad timing that he was ib front of the bullet when it was fired. Suicide. For a few reasons. 1. Ron got shot because of his own intervention. 2. he was committing suicide anyways. 3. Taking the position of the gunshot wound and the speed at which he fell into account, he still would have been killed by the fall. He was shot in the chest afterall, so it would require a bit of time for him to bleed out first before he would die. But, because he fell feet first, all the blood would rush to the upper half of the body. This would reduce or prevent any blood leak during the fall. This prevents him from dying of blood loss, (you know, the thing that is deadly about being shot.) resulting in him being killed by the fall first. Meaning that it is suicide. Had he got shot in the neck or head, he would have died Instantly which would have made that old man a murderer. Lucky him. There you go. The answer.
