Banquet Brown & Serve has been my usual go-to breakfast sausage, with the Turkey version being purchased most often (tastes the same & far fewer calories). The local supermarket recently had the Jimmy Dean sausages on special, however, and they were indeed superior to the Banquet. I'll have to try some of the higher-ranked sausages in this list, too.

As a southerner Jimmy Dean is what I'm most use too. I could tell it from just about anything. Smithfield is very good also.

I'm totally hooked on Johnsonville sausage. The standard, premium pork ones. If you aren't interested in fancy flavored sausages, like chicken-apple, or whatnot, but want that classic diner breakfast sausage experience, then these are perfect. I use them in all sorts of ways. Putting them in a fresh croissant - the flat ones, or splitting flat the links - with scrambled eggs and American cheese - freaking heaven. Also, they aren't frozen, but refrigerated, though, of course you can freeze them.

I won't buy food from Aldi, Kroger, or Walmart but I get fresh store made sausage from my local butcher and it's better than any brand of sausage in the freezer section. Buy fresh, wrap in parchment, wrap in foil then store several packages in a gallon freezer bag

Jimmy Deans was my favorite but usually got Banquet for value. Also recently tried Wal Mart & enjoyed them & have to have again to better assess them . Most of the other listed haven’t had. I’m on the West Coast if that means anything on availability.

Swaggerty's is our go to breakfast sausage. Simple ingredients = great taste, made by a producer NOT owned by communist china. All varieties are delicious. Happy that they have become more available, so you can often find a deal, like BOGO. We have their sausage in the fridge and the freezer.

Walmart stopped carrying the best sausage patties they had it was the Great value Beef breakfast patties. We don’t eat pork so now when We want breakfast patties We get the Great value turkey breakfast patties which aren’t nearly as good as the beef ones were but better than any vegetarian sausage patties I’ve had.

I knew Swaggerty’s would come out on top. This sausage is mad about 15 years from where I live. I have been buying and eating Swaggerty’s for nearly 50 years. Just last month my sister asked me to bring her. a couple of boxes when I was going to drive down to Florida for a visit. I told her that Sam’s club Carries it and can be found near the deli meats.

Schwan's has the BEST sausage links hands down. They are heat and serve in the microwave. They come out tasting moist and flavorful, like they just came out sizzling from a cast iron pan. They are a frozen food delivery service, so not available at your local grocery store. But worth finding.

I love Jones sausages and they're the only ones that buy as far as the fact goes I just put them on a paper towel after I cook them to absorb some of it. Most of the rest of these brands truly suck monkey balls I don't buy any of them. It's also so easy to make your own sausages at home and you can even freeze them basically ground pork basil and salt we do it all the time there's a million recipes around.
