I'm only 21. I think when I'm 30 I'll be saying the same. So many times I almost attempted, So many times I cried myself to sleep wishing I was never born for reasons I shouldn't bore you with. I'm impressed that I made it THIS far despite my depression. And I have Autism so all of that is just doubled. So when I'm 30 I'll be even more shaken by it. That I made it that far despite my depression but also because a lot of life threatening things run in my family. Cancer, heart problems, my grandfather had muscular dystrophy late in his life. Any of those things getting me while I'm young is my deepest gut fear. That's why I've been determined to turn things around. Eat better, get in shape and lose some pounds and then start living a more active lifestyle overall. You can't stop diseases or conditions from coming but at least you can lower the chances by being as healthy as possible. And Arthritis also runs, my mother and grandfather. I don't want to be like her when I'm in my 50's. Barely able to walk, barely able to use my hands for anything. She can't run. If anyone attacks her or breaks into our house I am her only line of defense because she physically can't get away from someone. I want to be in my 50's and still be able to run.

As a combat vet that survived 13 years as a severe chronic depressant... Thank you for being so open with your struggles. Thank you for all the joy you bring me and everyone else, and thank you for not cutting out the human emotion that you show. No matter how old you get, you’re always going to feel younger than your chronological age. I remember my mom telling me she always still felt like she was 25 in her head even in her 60’s and 70’s. I guess that’s the trick to being happy, is to stay young at heart, stay active physically and mentally, and never think of yourself as “old”. That’s why people who tell boomers or Gen X that they’re past their prime and too old, have no idea just how quickly time passes and all the experience and knowledge acquired by those people over the years can still be valued. Everyone eventually becomes the “old” ones soon enough and won’t like being dismissed by future generations, so stop to appreciate those who came before you.

Not everyone. I don't feel younger now that I'm 50. I totally feel old. Some older people do feel like they are young but not all. Especially when your body starts giving you problems. I think it's about personality. Some people will always have that young mentality. Also, as a Gen Xer I don't care what the young people think of my generation or age. If they don't listen to us .......Who cares. That's just part of who we are as a group. We just don't care about what others think. Boomers resemble more the young generation of today because they used to think that they were smarter, and that their parents were old and had old ideas. Gen Xers just think most other generations are just ridiculous and as long as they don't bother us, we won't bother them.

You are correct, Ashleigh. People don't FEEL older (at least until the arthritis sets in), but eventually things do get pretty obvious. No matter. The IMPORTANT thing to realize is time slips by WAYYY too fast, and it's important to make the most of it while you can. When I was in my 20s, I always thought there would be plenty of time to accomplish everything in my life's goals, but suddenly I discovered time had passed in a flash, and I'm stunned at how old I am now. Fortunately, I'm still physically fit and relatively healthy now, but I find myself looking back and remembering the people and experiences that make my life enjoyable and satisfying now, more than ever. Even so, I still have so much to do before I'm no longer capable. Along with that feeling are the regrets (not many, but there are a few). Regrets about how I (mis)treated one special person while I was in high school. Regrets about career choices, although on the upside, those choices have left me retired, completely debt free, and more happy and stress free than at any other time in my life. I guess the take away from all of this rambling is my plea to enjoy your life while you can, Ashleigh. It will pass much faster than you can possibly comprehend at the still young age of 30. YOUR KZbin content, along with your very real and honest human emotions and the courage to share them with us makes you very special to me and so many other subscribers. We thank you for all you do, and wish you the very best in life. You are loved and appreciated just because you are you.

As someone who is also about to turn 30, I really appreciate you pouring your heart out at the end there ❤ that’s not an easy thing to talk about but I’m grateful you did, it helps to hear about others with similar experiences. You make me laugh with your videos and I’m glad you’re still here!

I'm turning 34. I am absolutely different from highschool and a little more polished than my 20s and I just love it here. I'm a mama and wife. I love my house. Love my family. I'm a big kid with adult money. So I can go to Lazer tag for date nights. And vacations. I deal with depression and reminding myself that I use to daydream about my real life occasionally blows my mind and helps a little. ❤ Because 19 yr old me who was a mom in an abusive situation, living below the poverty line would have never dared to dream of hosting movie theater themed slumber parties for my daughter and laughing with her and her friends. Or a husband who would snatch me into bear hugs when I cry. Or bonus kids I get to love on after not being able to have more. My freaking in-laws even love me. And it helps to remember when thoughts get dark so thank you so much for the reminder of how all the bitter made today all the more sweet ❤❤❤

I'm glad you're here too. I follow a pretty good handful of reactors on a regular basis, but you're by far my favorite. You're honest, funny, and you have a good heart. I'm almost exactly twice your age, but we share similar sensibilities. I always look forward to seeing what you've been up to. Happy Birthday!!

My friends and I went to see this movie together. We'd all graduated from high school in 1984, so we enjoyed the movie immensely! There are some jokes in there you wouldn't get if you didn't experience the 80's, lol. We love you, Ashleigh! Thanks for being so open. That's why we connect with you! ❤️

Ashleigh, you sweet, sweet girl. I'm only 26 and I am so lucky to have not dealt with depression in my life, but your 'let's talk about it' still had me in tears. You are so genuine in your reactions and your discussions afterward, and that's what makes you one of the best reactors on YT. Never stop being you. I am so happy you are here. You're the first person to make me excited to reach the age of 30, so thank you! From this little girl in Texas: you're never alone.

I was just past 30 when I started my own videos, and now I'm 45 still going on with it, and I just want to say it's just wonderful to see so many like you putting there own stuff out there. I know exactly how it feels to have people out there who love and enjoy your work and how it makes creators like us feel like maybe we're doing something good in this world. Here's hoping your next 30 years are even better.

The end of your video touched me so much. I’ve been on depression meds for years as well. The older I get the harder it’s been and I’ve often thought if I will make it to my 60s. I’m 41. I put on a happy face to those around me but feel so much pain inside. But thank you for your message. It means so much ❤

I don't know if you read all these comments but I want you to know that I'm so happy that you kept going. You're struggles with depression and S.I. really speak to me. Yes, I didn't see myself living past 30. Especially because when I was 23, I was a raging alcoholic going through a divorce. But I'm a survivor at heart, just like you are. I dug in deep down and found any reason I could to keep going. Now I'm 55,been through 4 divorces, and widowed. But my mind (and heart) has changed so much since my thirties that i can't even remember having bad days. I'm living my best life now. I'm in a beautiful neighborhood and I make artwork all day when I'm not out fishing. And watching your videos on KZbin is one my favorite things about my wonderful life. It's real joy to see you happy with that great hubbin of yours. Keep smiling, laughing, and crying the way you do. You're such a real person and I feel like you're my friend. 😺

I can't support you the way I truly want to but for what it matters ill follow your channel until you stop doing this. Thank you for the channel, thank you for the fun, and thank you for being alive. Oh Ashleigh, happy belated birthday! 13 going on 30 is a great movie! I'm an 80's kid (solidly a Gen X kid) so this movie resonated with me.The first time I watched it I was very much like the Matt character back then.. And now I think the movie is underrated. Garner and Ruffalo were great! Every time you cry on camera I want to reach out and give you a big brotherly hug. I've dealt with depression and anxiety my whole life. I get it. I hope you had a GREAT birthday and that you and Blake had a kickass time! Much love!

Your inner self doesn't really change that much as you get older. I'm 50 and sometimes I still feel 17, though my body kicks my ass most days lol Oh honey, you're gonna make me cry. I'm not crying, my eyes are sweaty. :)

I loved how in the beginning you were like "is this a coming-of-age story? is it a rom-com?" and I'm like "yes." 🥰 Happy Birthday, Ashleigh! I'm so happy you're still here, and I wanna thank you for my first big cry after finding out that my aunt passed from cancer 2 weeks ago. you are a delight and your videos bring me so much more joy than you'll ever know! ❤

I don't usually comment, however, dear Lordt! You had my eyes sweating. I will be 57 this year and am still having a blast. Depression had always loomed over my and now my son. But we try our best. It's all you can do. Found you a couple years ago and haven't stopped watching. Love love love your channel. Have an amazing day miss ma'am! ❤

Super relatable, graduated in 2000, except I never had family like that. Makes watching these kind of movies bittersweet.

My childhood bedroom is actually a recording studio/guitar room! My parents don't exactly work out. This movie is my "comfort movie"-Jennifer Garner has such an incredible talent for the physical stuff that she really sells being a 13 year old trapped in a 30 year old's body. I think you'd enjoy the show Alias, even if you don't watch it on the channel (but I'd love it if you did!). JG plays a superspy who kicks SO MUCH ASS. And I think that feeling of NOT getting to get older is a commonality in us folks with depression. I couldn't imagine (at 17) living to be older than 21, and most times I didn't really want to. Then I couldn't imagine being 25, and never imagined I'd still be around at 30, then 40. I never thought about making plans for the future because I didn't think or want to be around. But now I'm almost 47 (Happy Birthday to my fellow April babies!) and my depression is so much better and I feel like life keeps getting better. I have so much to look forward to and I'm so glad I'm still here, and I'm so glad that YOU'RE still here! Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us. I'll take my meds right now. ❤❤❤❤❤

Ashleigh, my son is your age. He's moved away now, but we used to watch movies together and he would discover all these hidden gems I had the pleasure to introduce him to. I get the same pleasure watching you discover all these films that shaped my life and love of cinema. Revel in the place you are now, and know that, for some of us at least, it's more than just entertainment, it's a memory.

Very emotional ending.. Nothing but love from the other side of the world. :) I have to say my big depression started in my 30s with me reflecting on my life and most fatal with comparing my accomplishments with others of my age. That's not a road you wanna take. I'm glad to be able to enjoy your videos. You being a little weird, funny or weeping but most importantly yourself.

I am 42. At this age, it is still super hard for me to believe that I'm not that high school age anymore. Or even in my 20s. Everything went by so quick and my mind still thinks its 2006 sometimes. Enjoy your thirties. I had a blast in mine. Ashleigh, I appreciate you. Your candidness. You're so honest about who you are and that is so rare. There are days I will literally just click on a video of yours for a movie I've never seen because your presence is calming and you make me laugh. I understand about having those days where you didn't want to be here. Where you didn't think you'd make it to a certain age. Look at us now though. I'm glad YOU'RE still here.

FUN FACTS: There is quite a lot of stuff going on in the background that some of you likely didn’t catch. One of the Six Chicks was a very young Ashley Benson, aka Hanna from Pretty Little Liars. Now begins the bizarre MCU connection. Brie Larson aka Captain Marvel was another one of the Six Chicks. Of course we’ve got Mark Ruffalo who was Hulk. Young Matty, Sean Marquette did the voice of Spider-Man in the 2005 video game of the same name. Judy Greer, Lucy/Tom Tom was in Ant-Man as Ant-Man/Scott Lang’s ex wife, Maggie. Jennifer Garner, Jenna Rink was Elektra. Wendy, Ann Collins played Silverfox, and Andy Serkis as Richard, was Ulysses Klaue.
