Although monty did very shitty things like hurting Tyler and knowing about what Bryce did to those girls I really can’t help but feel empathy for him. If he had a better dad who didn’t beat the shit out of him and wasn’t homophobic maybe things would have been different.

See , Monty did bad things , and there is no excuse for anything he has done, however , i feel like his character deserved a redemption arc for several reasons. We , as viewers never really got to KNOW Monty, see who he really was. He wasn't a total monster he was conditioned and raised to be one. This is true of many victims of domestic abuse (his dad @ him) and its saddening that his character is viewed by many as this hate-able character when really he was broken putting up the "bad boy hateful " façade. It upsets me that someone like Bryce got a redemption arc but not Monty.

Now I will acknowledge that maybe they have had some problems in their life. Still it does not give them the right to take it out on someone else. @@sidhisinnott9004 Well for this one I used iMovie on my phone. I think you can use it on computer too. For the filter I just used an app called 24FPS. Also to create my Thumbnails I used the Phonto app. Phonto mainly for the fonts. You can also take your saved thumbnail over to any filter app.

Damn, if I was the writer of the show, I would have a plot so much better for him. It would be like this: 1) Winston wouldn't be at Bryce's school. He would start at Liberty an year earilier as a newbie, and be friends with Tyler once they worked together taking pictures. 2) Monty and Winston would meet in a regular party from Liberty and that scene of the blow job and the fight happens there... 3) After that, Monty and Winston start a secret relationship. There would be a lot of romantic scenes of them, but that just in off because when they are at Liberty, they don't look at each other, they pretend they don't know each other, except when Monty bullies Winston in front of his jock friends just to play the bad guy. 4) Once Tyler discovers about their relationship because he goes to the photo lab and kind of see Monty and Winston hugging each other in a romantic way, but they stop right when they hear some noise. So Tyler is not sure of what he saw and once he is kind of perv, he goes stalking Winston's window with his camera and sees them both in bed (kinda like he did to Hannah and Courtney). 5) In a regular argument between Tyler and Monty, Tyler let on something about Monty having a secret boyfriend and Monty gets furious, tho Tyler doesn't tell that to anybody. Anyways, that mop scene happens too, but Monty won't go to jail, because... 6) At the homecoming game, before that big fight at the end, still during the match, Monty falls head first without his helmet into a rock or something, and passes out. He goes to the hospital in an ambulance right way and stays there in coma for two months and he also loses his memory. 7) He goes back to Liberty two months later with no memory at all. The principal asks everybody to be nice and patient with him, once he can't remember anything. So, Bryce is dead but he can't remember about him. Tyler is still afraid of Monty, but Monty can't remember anything about Tyler. 8) Without his memory, Monty forgets he is a badass and now he is a real nice and sweet guy, friendly with everyone. Winston takes the chance to say out loud that he is the boyfriend and to everyone's surprise, Monty is not embarassed to assume it. So they don't hide their relationship anymore. People like this new Monty, so Tyler, Alex, Winston, etc never tells him how bad he was before, because they don't want him to remember it. They want him to stay nice forever. Once he still hasn't recovered 100% from the accident, due to his poor health, he can't play sports for now. So he naturally stops hanging with the jocks. 9) There is no Monty's sister in the show. Monty himself will eventually get closer to Tyler. Cnce he can't play anymore and once he is in a relationship with Winston, he becomes a natural visitant / helper at the photo lab. On the other hand, once he is now friends with Clay, Tyler, Alex... and Winston's boyfriend, he also starts to get bullied by his former jock friends. 10) He doesn't care or fight back because now he is a nice guy, but then his ex jock friends tell him what he did to Tyler. He can't believe that's true aand asks Tyler about it. 11) That scene of Tyler telling Clay about the rape doesn't happen. Actually, it happens with Monty instead of Clay. Tyler tells Monty what he did, so Monty cries a lot hearing this, ask for the hugg, they both cry during the hugg and Monty begs for forgiveness. Tyler forgives him. (so he wouldn't go to jail and wouldn't be dead. He would be happy and nice with Winston) Ok, sorry about the long plot, but that's how I would write the show... LOL!

Montgomery was someone with a lot of potential who just really got ruined by his dad. He was twisted, but his own home was a violent and and unsafe space. He obviously didn't get the upbringing he should have gotten and ofcourse you are an agressive person when home is a warzone. There is never a safe place. Timothy Granaderos really did a great job a portraying him.
