purealondra in a different interview, when she was describing letting her go to suicide she began to tear up as well. she said she had played her for 6mths and to loose her like that was painful.( because she loved her ) that shows you she is a in-depth actress. someone who really connects to the material. that's why the suicide scene sticks with you so much. .it's heartbreaking

It sounds like a blend but it really is just a pretty common Australian "city" accent. It's especially prevalent amongst the younger generations and probably indicative of the pervasiveness of American media but regardless, it's a very common accent in Australia.

Jamie Fong no one in Australia talks with a blend of Aussie and American because of American media, I'd say she talks the way she does - much like Nicole Kidman because she's spent so much time in America, you adapt to your surroundings even accents, kinda like when you hang around your friends you start saying there sayings or laughing the way they laugh

yeah... nah!! As someone who is from perth too with only a year age difference (i think), i do not pronounce my words like she does and no one around here does either. i agree with other people, probably playing hannah and what not has influenced it. It happens to alot of actors. For some reason i find it interesting! If you want another example look at devon, the guy who played obama in the neflix show. He's from perth too and he doesn't have much of a mixed american and aussie accent, if at all. it's definately not common in aus from what I've experienced anyway ... so happy for her though :)

She's a Perth girl, and a 100% Aussie! I saw her perform in a show with my sister who both went to the same acting/performing workshop literally only about 2 years ago... Katherine had the most awesome voice and it was only a matter of time before she was noticed! Go Katherine! It's so weird seeing someone you personally know make it so far so quickly!

*This is such an amazing show.* ❤ I just finished the last episode... And I had quite a reaction to the suicide scene. My heart was pounding and I felt physically sick, I had to pause it and take a break. TV/movies have *never* made me feel that way before. But I'm glad I finished it because it was so powerful. I hope the show wins some awards, they deserve it! Congrats to everyone who had a part in making this show so amazing. I hope it helps anyone who has ever been in similar situations, or has thought of suicide.

I would agree Justin did say some nasty things at times but If you really took the time to realize he didn't actually send the pictures to everyone that ultimately ended Hannah's life but it was Bryce who sen't the picture out. Justin had it worse than anyone else in the show when it came to how he was raised. I felt really bad for him because 90% of his problems started at home with his mothers abusive boyfriend.

I still can't believe she is Australian.. I'm super surprised! The show "13 reasons why" made my eyes pour like rain. It had heart braking scenes, sad scenes, confusion, it had suspense and much more. This series made me realise that bulling is terrible (I know that is obvious), It makes people think suicidal thoughts in their mind. I think to my self,"Why, why do we tease/bully people..?" I also think to myself,"What if I was that person getting bullied and treated like sh*t." It makes me feel the need to help others if they look like they are troubled or if they feel troubled in any sort of way. This series changed my life to make me a better person. So I just binged this series and I finished the 1st season in 2 days, which is crazy because each episode was like 51 minutes or so... Anyway, I absolutely LOVED it. I was intrigued the whole time, wondering why Hannah killed herself. I don't go to a normal high school (homeschooled) so I don't know what its like to be bullied or picked on, even when I was going to public schools. I truly learned sooo much from watching this series and I hope any and everyone who watches it does too.
