#13 Replacing The Fuel Filter On A Davco 382 Fuel Water Separator

An overview of how to replace the fuel filter on a Davco fuel water separator. It's not a difficult job, and it doesn't take anywhere near as long as this video suggests.

Just a note: that filter has a check valve on the inlet coming from the tank, if fuel drains when the top vent cover cap is removed it means that the check valve is leaking back to the tank, in case you have a hard start you might want to pay attention to the check valve operation.

How many miles can you go before you have to change

I dont know what Volvo recommends, but I change the fuel filters every 15,000 miles

@jfitz9624 It can be more or less. I constantly check it, but if I get to 15K and it's not full I change it anyway.
