@@Dullshimmer To be more precise with why it ticked for me, I really liked Nier Automata's music, even the more ambient ones, so it might come from there. Also found that the music meshed well with the visuals, this kinda electro-impressionist style, if that makes sense. And for the battles, I've always had a soft spot for intense pumping melodic electronic music, and as a composer, I find what they did harmonically to be genius. Cause I'm a non-taster when it comes to music and quickly grow tired of simplistic colorless electronic music, but I like specific kinds of harmonic spice and the game delivered what I asked.

I haven't played Nier Automata or listened to its soundtrack yet, but I think I get what you're saying. I don't want to make it seem like I disliked the music of 13 Sentinels, as it isn't bad, its just not the kind of music that gets stuck in my head or is always prominent enough in the game to really connect moments to the music, for me at least. I do feel like the soundtrack is very much fitting for the game, I just felt it was a much more subdued soundtrack that wasn't made to stand out as much as other games I've played. I'm listening to the soundtrack as I write this and I'm honestly like were these even in the game as I don't remember many of them at all, but they are a good listen.
