I meant to release this last month, but hey, sometimes Life comes at you fast, right Takatoshi? I will Not be doing a recap for this game anytime soon, as SEGA of Japan has put multiple claims on the original livestream for showing the ending, so clearly they do not want anyone talking about or showing the end of the game. Still really liked this game, but unfortunately I do not want to waste time and effort on something that will be struck down. Bright side, all the more reason to play it yourself and enjoy the story without me.

@@InquisitionL6 No, it's copyright strikes for ending spoilers, since that is specifically what's being targeted. Which is still better than what some games get saddled with as far as streaming goes. And considering everything *but* the ending is free game, I think it's unfair to just chalk this up to "strikes for free adverts".

I recently finished my playthrough of this masterpiece about a month or so ago and this is by far one of my top favorite games of all time. Everything from the characters, OST, story, RTS gameplay, beautiful scenery, art style, dialog, both Japanese and English voice acting, etc, quite literally everything about this game is absolute perfection in my eyes. The visuals are beautiful and the art style the game is made in is completely unique. I have never seen such a beautiful looking art style. A very big thing that appeals to me when it comes to games, anime, and overall life in general is style. Bleach, Danganronpa, Persona are all examples of capturing the essence of style perfectly. They are all series I love, not only because of the characters and story but because of the art style and unique feel to it. Music also plays a very large part in how memorable, nostalgic, and overall how much of a emotional connection I feel with said game/series. Might I also say, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim does a truly excellent job at capturing the mood and emotion in scenes along with gameplay, it makes you feel as if you're experiencing the build up each protagonist's feeling. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is truly a masterpiece. If you are on the fence about getting this beautifully crafted game, I *highly* recommend purchasing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.

Saw you in the comments of some of the soundtrack videos a few months back, glad to see you’re here. You and I basically have the same view on this game, however. One thing i’d like to add is that the side characters within this game are treated quite well in terms of screen time and character development, which you don’t see too often sadly. PS: Miwako best girl.

Finally picked this up a few days ago... slight correction: Yes, pilots need to sit out after 2 "consecutive" battles, and recover in 1. However, you can break your "consecutive" chain by hitting Square to have them recover if you really need a specific member. It's a trade-off in that battling consecutively gives you bigger bonuses for each wave completed, and breaking the chain resets the bonus to zero. The difficulty risk in going for continuous battles is being forced to use Sentinels that may not even have access to the skills or weapons you need... i just did a fight with 5 pilots out for Brain Overload, leaving me with 6 attackers and only 2 on automatic Terminal defense. It wasn't too bad, but i can see it getting nasty later on, and especially in Hard difficulty.

This is the kind of "game" that doesn't sell well (and for good reason)... but will probably spark the creativity that will drive a future gem on one person of the few that dedicate time to swallowing all it has to offer.

Sadly, Vanillaware games usually never get ported to PC.

@@TheFeri I think it's a matter of funding and manpower. Vanillaware, in its entirety, is a very small company. Around 30 people, IIRC. And they have their own proprietary engine for handling all the sprites, so farming out a port isn't likely unless someone else steps in with funding. But if any VW game is gonna get a PC port, it's likely be Dragon's Crown first over this. As for waiting for a recap, as stated elsewhere, Sega's stamping out ending spoilers, and Oni's not doing one because of that. That said, the best way to experience this is to get a PS4 and this game. It really is true that the game's plot is revealed semi-nonlinearly, and most of the enjoyment is from actually experiencing it, knowing it's not quite how someone else goes through it. And considering how this game is pretty much doomed to not being a high seller, would be good to at least throw some monetary support at them, even if it's on sale.
