Talk about a family of women warriors🖤🥺🌹! Soon you’ll get better hit my heart really hard because my best friend died from cancer, and my mommy is someone who has to deal with chronic illness suffering from severe pain 24/7. She made a song from things most can’t speak about, and yet, everyone felt that song on a personal level. Talk about an artist...

The fact that people can look at Taylor and say, "oh well she's privileged so The Man is bullshit" infuriates me. It's because she's one of the most powerful women in the world, but she still feels the effects of how men treat her and other women in society. It's that she's this huge star, but she was still sexually assaulted. It's that she became so successful from her music, but a man bought her music and she couldn't. It's a song for all women and people who feel that they have felt that double standard or have felt oppression from men. It's such an important song for that reason.

It is also a fun song for her fans. Even if sexism didn’t exist for her (impossible and I don’t understand how people can think that the face for the crazy ex girlfriend stereotype, does not face sexism) it would still exist for her fans. She also made a point to include a black MAN being uncomfortable on the train because of how The Man was acting. Black men are also given double standards that people like The Man don’t. Calling her a white feminist because of that didn’t make sense. ( she is not above criticism for her advocacy but trying to make The Man problematic is ridiculous.)

Many people have problems emphathizing with someone else, especially if they have been successful and have money. As if money is the key to happiness, money wipes away all problems, money makes your insecurities magically go away, money makes all your dreams come true, privilege makes you unrelateable to other people because____ privilege is one thing, but working hard for that success is another thing and requires respect because it was earned. She is a woman of power, but still has less power than a man and people just don't get it. She has money and everything she could buy, but a man bought her masters and she couldn't. It makes me upset when I see people talking about how "She's Taylor Swift.... what does she have to be insecure about, unhappy about, she can have any guy, she can buy anything she wants". Anyone who says anything of that sort has no idea about psychology 101 and human nature and what's interesting is that I see a lot of Taylor fans and reactors saying these words. Taylor has just as many issues as we normal people have and also, as a woman, has to deal with being treated differently because she is a woman but in the media. A man would not have gotten the media criticism for dating in their early 20's, as we all probably did but not in the media. Men get away with it, women are called names. Men write about their relationships all the time, other women write about relationships and personal experiences, but when Taylor does it, it makes news. It infuriates me that she has had to go through that and then also have people lack the insight and empathy to understand that just because she has worked her ass off for 16 yrs doesn't mean that everything is perfect and she has no problems, that she has no feelings, that she has this perfect life. She has demons like we all do, because she is a normal person. And, being a woman in a man's world is just one of the things that she too experiences like all us women.

unfortunately, the more popular she is, the more haters there will be. It makes no sense and it makes me angry. One person on twitter commented that they didn't understand why she was being nominated for awards because she hadn't released anything. I reminded that she had released folklore and it spent the most # of weeks at #1 in 2020. The only response from this person was that she was boring. Really? There is such hatred and she is sensitive, its like she is not cut out for this cut throat business that she is in. She is the most successful of course, but the more success she gets, the more haters, and this just hurts her more and more. She had to stop the social media contact just for her sanity.

I respect her so much. She has the most beautiful soul. Her Mom hasn’t passed away. Jimmy Kimmels Mom died and the day he came back to work his team wanted to do something special for him. They heard she was in town and asked her to come play. She showed up with no makeup or fancy clothes and played her song. Jimmy had just told a story about how his Mom would squeeze his hand three times to say I love you. Taylor comes out and plays this new song .. squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi.. the producers said their jaw just hit the floor. That was just the words to the song. He cried. She cried. We cried. It makes me so happy to see you discover who she really is.

Actually, not accurate. ALL women in country music (except Dolly, because!) avoided politics after the Dixie Chicks got trashed. Her father buys those armored limos you see--there have been literally dozens of death threats over the years, and a half dozen armed stalkers before she said anything about politics. His concerns about escalation are pretty legit----and borne out by the attempt on the MI governor last week. The attitude of the record label, and the management team tho---all they cared about is sales.

Its horrible, people are horrible and especially women who criticize other women. Eating disorders are psychological, it is not only because of the media criticizing her. She thinks she is fat. That is the disorder. The media contributes to that stigma, but the media did not create the disorder. She has to constantly fight with herself thinking that she is fat, when clearly she is not. And, I think she looks the best she ever has. Part of that is because she is happier, and that shows. But it is a constant battle. Eating disorders are also part of the psyche that needs to control something, she can control her food intake. The problem is the disorder in that she sees herself as fat. How can the media be so cruel to her and say that she is annoying... because she's too skinny or because she has too many friends.... it must be really unhappy living a life when someone else's weight and friends affects them so much that they must publicly shame them for it. People are not nice people.

taylor's experience with the "over party" thing in 2016 was actually one of the first and it had actual consequences (unlike the ones we get every other day now). People actually started HATING her and a lot of people still haven't changed their mind about it since. This was coming off of her popularity peak so the downfall was harsh.

So before her performance, Jimmy has talked about how his mom used to squeeze his hand 3 times to let him know that she loves him. The production did not know which song is going to be performed by Taylor and she chose to perform new year’s day with the line „you squeeze my hand 3 times in the taxi” which was a crazy and touching coincidence

Taylor invites Ronan’s family to every tour for free. They sit with her family when they go. I remember reading Ronan’s mom’s post about her daughter being excited to see her friend Taylor again for the 1989 tour and that she wore cat shoes just to show her. Taylor asked her permission to sing Ronan before the show because she hasn’t played it since the show they did honoring her son after his death. It breaks my heart every time.

Eating disorder: When I saw this part in Miss Americana for the first time I couldn’t help but cry. This one is indeed hard to watch. Not just the first few hundred times. And I agree with you, Jeffrey. I don’t understand either how people just go up to women and ask “how far along are you?” Setting a side the fact that it’s rude when the woman is pregnant, it can cause actual damage if she’s not pregnant. Feeling like an outside: She certainly is the cool kid now (well, by now, not a kid anymore. But the cool part still stands). Talking about a song she wrote about her Moms cancer: I so understand her reaction in this clip. She’s got such a beautiful and close relationship with her mom. I get how emotional that song (Soon You’ll Get Better) is for her. I have a really close relationship with my mom too. She’s not just my mom, she’s the person who always supports me, she’s the person I can talk to about anything, she’s my best friend. When she nearly died in 2013 I didn’t know what to do. Thankfully she got a little better. But she was then given 5-8 years. Well, it’s been 7 years now... And she’s doing better than we had any right to hope for. But still I know I will lose her. And it won’t be a timeframe of 10 or 20 years. Taylor’s “and I’m just going to stop talking about it now”, I felt that. Heck, I lived that. I can really relate to her in this segment. Talking about her sexual assault trial: It not only can happen to anyone. It does happen to anyone. Think about this for a second. In Taylor’s case there was a photo of the moment it happened. There was undeniable prove. And still she had to jump through so many hoops. Now, think about all the women who go through something similar, or worse. All the cases where there is no prove. Not in the way there was in Taylor’s case. What about those women? If Taylor had to jump through so many hoops, what do these women have to do? It’s always men who say “it happens to men to.” And sure it does. But as you said, the percentage is so infinitesimal. And women lying bout it happens too. Sure. 1 in 100.000 cases maybe? So, not believing a woman just because “some women lie about it”... I just can’t wrap my head around that. Being disappointed with her performance at the Grammys: Just look at this clip. You can feel this clip! Playing a song for Jimmy Fallon after his mother died: Her mom didn’t pass away. Jimmy Fallons mom passed away. Talking about being called a snake: Being called a snake was meant as an insult. And I understand how much that probably hurt her. But, I love how Taylor made it her own. Snakes are beautiful creatures. Beautiful, strong and survive so much. Does that remind you of anyone? Being denied to express her political views: That guy is her dad. This is so much more than just politics to her, it’s personal. You can see it in the “stalking” part. You can see it in the look in her eyes. In her whole demeanor. Finding out reputation didn’t get any Grammy nominations: That “sure” cuts you.... Singing a song about Ronan: Yeah, I skipped this part. I heard Ronan for the first time a day after my 16 year old niece, who I was very close with, died. That song broke me. It gutted me. It’s been a few years now and I still can’t hear even one note of it without emotionally being right back at the moment I got the call that she died. So yeah, skipped this part. Sorry about that, Jeffrey. I usually watch every second of your vids. Singing Soon You’ll Get Better: Look at her. The pain and the concern for her mom is written all over her face it’s all throughout her voice. The incident: Everything that a-h does is about him. Talking about the hate: This part is so heartbreaking. Seeing her cry, the pain written on her face, even now I can’t help but cry 💔 Taylor is such a beautiful, warm and wonderful person. All that hate, she doesn’t deserve it. She didn’t then, she doesn’t now and she will never deserve it.

The point about the nomination to the Grammys is sad because reputation was a great record, better than a lot that were nominated, but because of the way the media was seeing her at the time combined with the fact that she was no longer innovating that much in their view (she already had two pop records at that time) they just decided to not even nominate her, and it happens all the time not just to her, but to a lot of artists that get "old", women above all, they must be always innovating and reinventing themselves to be considered the bests or at least to get the acknowledgment they deserve while other people (mainly men) may not be as good as them but society just don’t demand that much from them.

County music has an unwritten rule to NOT open your mouth about anything important. When you grow up in that environment (and her old label told her to keep her mouth shut too), it’s scary to break from that which makes me respect her even more. Her dad is the one at 11:09 and he’s the one talking most of the time in that scene. However, when you hear a British guy talking that’s Robert Allen. You can see him at 12:40 (guy on left) and 21:19. He is part of her management. If you know the band Def Leopard he’s Rick Allen’s (drummer) brother!

your words on how women are treated around sexual assault accusations were so true & highly appreciated. its honestly disgusting, the fear of not being believed just adds to my insane fear of going through something worse than i already have. its a shitty world sometimes !

So the Taylor Swift is Over Party happened because of the whole Famous situation. Kim released a video supposedly providing proof that Taylor gave Kanye her blessing for the lyrics so everyone came down on Taylor calling her a liar. Now in 2020 we know she was telling the truth because the full video was released showing Taylor specifically ask Kanye not to say anything mean about her or call her a bitch (which is exactly what he did). I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this is what started the #___IsOverParty format. It was definitely one of the first ones if not the first.

I love your reactions because your face is so reflective of your emotions which are freely expressed. A few things... a lot of this is from Miss Americana which is worth a watch, the people discussing her speaking about politics... one is her management who are concerned for the hit on her reputation (how would you feel if your concerts are half full... remembering it was during her Rep tour and that had been a concern esp when you have lots of haters who would crow about that) also her father who fears she could lose her life over it... there are nutters out there already and she’s high profile so could target her as an easy target to take out The soon you’ll get better performance... song about her mum but performed for Covid concert Def react to Jimmy performance after HIS mum died... good call (it’s his first show back after taking time off to grieve) The over party... the Taylor swift is one of the very first of these I know of. It was response to the phone call stuff....

A lot of these clips were from the Miss Americana doc, but the TS is over thing was back in 2016 (before it was as common as it is now) and it was after the Kim/Kanye drama and Famous came out. It was a disaster. That scene always crushes me. Also, in the clip where she's talking about politics, it was her manager and dad she was talking to. I think Taylor should be allowed to speak her views, but a lot of people don't seem to understand that her Dad was mainly concerned about her safety. She's had many stalking incidences and legitimate death threats that they have armored vehicles and Taylor carries around gauze specifically for gun shot wounds...they have to take her safety super serious and that was her dad's biggest concern. I can't imagine being in the spotlight like she is and I am happy she has found a way to now be able to talk about politics as she feels comfortable, but also keep a more private life.

She was trending on twitter because the whole ‘famous’ kim kanye phone call. Kim said Taylor was lying and called her a snake. So many people tend to hate Taylor since 2016, and it’s getting better now cause the full recording phone call was leak this year and Taylor didn’t lie. Also, the album she put out this July, folklore, is a great album, so some haters stopped hating her for a while.

Its like taylor invented the hashtag ____is over party. I dont remember it being big like fhat before people wanted to cancel her. It was a massive. It will go down in pop culture. Unfortunately their have been 2 moments on her career that will go down in history that are sad and mean and showed the dark side of society and both those times were caused by kanye. Its like he had a personal vendetta. He was very envious of her fame and success. Im sure he was envious of male artists success aswell. But for him to be envious over a FEMALES success and then made amends with her all during her biggest era. When she turned pop. When she was popping and dominating and got even bigger .. actually.. the biggest. It was like there was no other popstar bigger than her. That 1989 tour proved it all. She showed off her famous friends. Almost like if you were to imagine the music industry being high school... She was the most popular. It was aaaaaaaaaaall about her. Imagine every student being asked questions just about her. Imagine turning on the "high school tv" and it was all about her. Now imagine so many of those high school students start talking shit about her. Publically. Imagine outsiders asking "what do you think of taylors squad. Do you think she would accept you in the squad?". That's LIRERALLY how it was like for 2 years straight during the 1989 era. That is when Kanye swooped in and called her and recorded it. Coinsidence? hadn't released an album for 5 years? Suddenly in 2016 when he did, he decided to try and frame Taylor some how. And get Kim Kardashian to do the rest with her "laywer, manipulative, editing" mentality all in the name of "defending my man". Just because Taylor stood up to him at the GRAMMYS. Thats when they released the short cut edited version to make taylor out to play victim (just invalidating all the times she really was a victim and using what the public already say about her due to her break up songs). But then we got reputation. She found her muse. Her lover. Full version came out. And now we got folklore!

For the last one, the #taylorswiftisoverparty trended after Kanye came out with his song Famous and in the song he said " I feel like me and taylor might still have sex why i made that bitch famous". Taylor came out and said that she never agreed to be called a bitch. Kim k then leaked a snippet of a phone call between Kanye and Taylor where Kanye asks for permission to say " I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex" she said that was funny. Everyone then cancelled Taylor and called her a liar etc a snake even though Kanye never asked her about the " i made that bitch famous" line. She basically got cancelled and no one literally saw her for a year and then she came back with reputation. At the start of this year the full phone call Leaked, as Kim had only posted snippets of it to "cancel" Taylor, and the full phone call revealed that Kanye never asked Taylor about the " I made that bitch famous" line, and throughout the whole call you could tell how uncomfortable Taylor was.

There are several cheesy commercial "documentaries" about Swift, here on KZbin. To get a real idea of the difference of the Reputation Era, it doesn't hurt to go back and watch some of those. They tended to appear whenever she sold over a million copies of a record . . . .other people trying to cash in. The best one she was involved in was 'The Road to Fearless' which is like the official tour video for her first headliner tour.

@@robertthompson7242 youtube docs are cool and i do watch those. But its the ones that are titled "... for 10 minutes straight!" Or of a similar title (like this one) that are lame and clickbait-y. I have no respect for those types. My opinion though lol

If you like politics, you will enjoy Lover. Also, not Taylor related but you would also enjoy Boys Will be Boys by Dua Lipa. And her mother is still alive... the performance was for HIS mother’s death. And her being “canceled” was after Kanye released Famous and the Kim released a doctored clip of the phone conversation where it appears Taylor gave him permission making Taylor look like a liar
