My favorite way to push aesthetics, particlarly because I'm from the southwest, is taking cowboy western aesthtics and blending it with goth and adding my punk spin to it.

Proud to say that I have bunch of cloths that belonged to my mother, grandmother, aunt and even my greatauntie! The quality of the fabric, lines, seams and cuts is unsurpassable. As you mentioned, there is something awesome in wearing clothes that has seen so much, it is like I'm embodying the power of all those stylish women in my family when I wear those pieces!
@daniellaviola44410 ай бұрын
I agree 100%! you can't compare the quality and care of those pieces to pieces made today, and it really does change how you feel in your clothes. The fact you managed to get some of those family treasures is so special! ✨

Omg yes and i love when my clothes are thrifted and have a clear story behind them. Like i love to let what i know was someone's well loved jacket be honored and worn in the world and collect new experiences. Feels powerful

Great points! I think makeup is also important, more bold or graphic makeup can elevate your look easily, even just red or dark lipstick can change the whole mood

thank you for this! totally agree, make-up is SUCH a huge one, & I can't believe that I actually left it out. it can definitely be a defining factor in pulling the look together/communicating a vision

Loved this video! It has a lot of very useful advice and I agree on several of the points you made. I too follow fashion accounts of various ages and styles that are very different than my own. I can learn so much from others. It is interesting to see their different perspectives when building an outfit. It is very much an art form.

Ah I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! Agreed, it's beneficial to broaden your style influences especially when it comes to figuring out your own :)

ugh, told my hubs that if it's cute but it's from Shein,,,Don't bother! They suck for the planet and their workers.

agreed! I also think it's important to remember that you don't actually know where others are on their sustainability journey, and I don't think it's very productive to chastise anyone for not making perfect purchasing decisions at some point in their past. I'd say it's more beneficial to be transparent and share awareness in an educational way. Personally, I think that would make more impact, don't you agree?
